A representative for the ‘Jackass’ star reveals that he left the rehab facility after not hearing from Nikki or his son Phoenix Wolf for two weeks, hence he made the poor decision.
AceShowbiz – Bam Margera‘s relationship demise is believed to have contributed to his rehab leave. According to his representative, the professional skateboarder fled the rehab facility earlier this month after breaking up with his wife Nikki Boyd.
The rep tells TMZ that Bam and Nikki called it quits a couple of weeks ago. Since then, he hasn’t been able to contact Nikki or see his son Phoenix Wolf. She has not responded to any of Bam’s calls or texts, and has been absent from his recovery process.
The rep says that the 42-year-old was staying at a sober living home when he made his unauthorized exit from rehab. He was trying to hold it together for a while, but after not hearing from Nikki or his son for two weeks, he made the poor decision and left the treatment center.
The source also confirms earlier report that Bam was unhappy because he was not getting special treatment as a celebrity at the facility. While it’s not surprising that the facility wasn’t giving him special treatment, other facilities that he had checked in to in the past have treated him differently, so that also drove him to leave the treatment center.
Bam was reported missing from the Florida facility on Monday, June 13. After a two-day hunt, cops found him at a Delray Beach hotel, where he had been shacking up after bouncing from the rehab facility, on Wednesday. He was escorted back to the treatment center without any resistance. Bam found out that Nikki took their son Phoenix out of Florida without telling him, so he agreed to return to the rehab facility voluntarily.
During his unauthorized exit from rehab, Bam was reportedly off his medication for several days and his team was worried he’d relapsed. He was additionally spotted at a few bars close to his hotel on Tuesday night.
