‘I loved spending time with him’: Barbra Streisand reveals Prince Charles sent her flowers and she would visit him at Highgrove House… after ‘affair’ claims
Rumours of an affair began building 20 years after they first met in 1974.
And Barbra Streisand, 79, referenced her run-ins with Prince Charles, 72, on Thursday as she lifted the lid on a sweet gesture he once did.
Speaking to Ross King on ITV’s Lorraine, the actress, singer and filmmaker revealed that the future king once sent her a bouquet of flowers before he met Princess Diana.

In addition to that, she said the pair would spend time with one another at Charles’s private residence in Gloucestershire, Highgrove House.
‘It was so sweet. I was recording at Warner Brothers and he asked to meet me,’ the ten-time Grammy winner began. ‘I offered him a sip of tea and I thought “they didn’t have to test me for poison or something!”
‘But we became friends and I loved spending time at Highgrove and spending some time with him.’

Barbra continued: ‘I saw this bouquet of flowers and I said, “Who sent me that?” and my assistant said, “A fan called Charles.”
‘I looked and they weren’t from a florist, they were from his gardens and she mistook it as a fan. It was so funny,’ the Funny Girl star quipped. ‘That’s Prince Charles! That was before he met Diana.’
She went on to tell Ross that she had a ‘very funny’ line in a stage show that the prince went to watch, where she said, ‘If I played my cards right, I could have wound up being the first Jewish princess!’

The New Yorker certainly wasn’t afraid to reference Charles during her British Summer Time Hyde Park gig back in 2019.
The three-time Tony winner showed the crowd several photos of herself meeting the prince and flashed a newspaper cutting on screen which referenced Charles directly.
It said: ‘Barbra charms her prince, Charles.’

The pair first met in 1974 on the set of Barbra’s film Funny Lady and they met once again in 1994 when she performed for his Prince’s Trust charity at Wembley Arena in London.

He had separated from Princess Diana two years earlier and was involved with Camilla Parker Bowles at the time.
Sources quoted in the biography Barbra – The Way She Is say Charles had a private dinner for the singer nine months later where they seemed ‘very affectionate toward each other’.

Speaking more in her Lorraine chat, Barbra told Ross: ‘What’s important in life is family. Grandchildren, it narrows down your world.
‘It’s more concentrated and more full of love and gratitude and it allowed me to finish my book which I started in 1999.
‘But now it’s really going to come out next year,’ she promised.
