Bette Midler sells her three-story, 14-room Fifth Avenue penthouse with its own private elevator for $50M after living there for 20 years

After two years on the market, the legendary Bette Midler has reportedly sold her three-story, six-bedroom Fifth Avenue apartment for an eye-popping $50M.

The Honolulu-born 75-year-old and her husband of 36 years, performance artist Martin von Haselberg, made a mighty profit considering they bought the Upper East Side triplex for $3.5M in 1996 – according to the New York Post.

Bette’s stunning penthouse property – located on floors 15, 16, and 17 – was substantially remodeled for two years by architect Frederick Fisher.

‘It’s time for another family to enjoy it,’ Midler – who’s only an Oscar away from EGOT status – told the New York Times of downsizing.

The prewar co-op building unit spans 7K square feet and features a private elevator, six bedrooms (two of which face Central Park), and seven bathrooms.

The Divine Miss M’s top level features a 3,100-square-foot lush rooftop garden and terrace with expansive views of the Big Apple skyline and Central Park lake.
