Billie Eilish is in a new era, and—obvs—with a new era comes a new look. The singer recently debuted fresh blonde hair and a vintage vibe on the cover of Vogue ahead of Happier Than Ever, and has been leaning into that same style as she promotes the album. But apparently some fans aren’t here for it—even though how Billie dresses is no one’s business—and voiced their preference for her old look during a Q&A.
In response to a follower who said “no more plain boring outfits were so fucking tired..what happened to you” (um, rude), Billie shared an old photo of herself with blue hair and a matching baggy blue fit, saying “what you want this again 💀”
She also posted a photo of herself in heels and a corset in response to another follower who asked for more pics:
Billie spoke about her new look to Vogue, saying she anticipated fans asking ‘If you’re about body positivity, why would you wear a corset? Why wouldn’t you show your actual body?’” As she put it, “My thing is that I can do whatever I want. It’s all about what makes you feel good. If you want to get surgery, go get surgery. If you want to wear a dress that somebody thinks that you look too big wearing, f**k it–if you feel like you look good, you look good.”
She added, “Suddenly you’re a hypocrite if you want to show your skin, and you’re easy and you’re a slut and you’re a whore. If I am, then I’m proud. Me and all the girls are hoes, and f**k it, y’know? Let’s turn it around and be empowered in that. Showing your body and showing your skin – or not – should not take any respect away from you.”
