Brian Wilson Shares Solo Piano Version Of ‘Wouldn’t It Be Nice’

Beach Boys co-founder and legendary musician Brian Wilson has released a solo piano version of the song “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” from the band’s 1966 record Pet Sounds.

The song, under Wilson’s genius and effortless dexterity, has evolved into a soothing lullaby and is taken from the musician’s forthcoming solo record titled At My Piano, which includes a host of other Beach Boys covers, including “God Only Knows,” released last month, “Good Vibrations,” “In My Room,” and “Don’t Worry Baby,” among others.

“I think the piano album turned out so good. It’s a trip, and Mt. Vernon Farewell sounds like a fairytale!” the 79-year-old shared with Rolling Stone in an email, referring to his take inspired by the Beach Boys’ 1973 EP Mount Vernon and Fairway. “I hope people enjoy it.”

The album is slated to be released on November 19, 2021. Meanwhile, Wilson kicked off a U.S. tour in Huntington, New York, on October 5. The trek winds its way across the states before wrapping up on October 23 in Waukegan, Illinois.
