Federline, 44, was seen donning a black T-shirt with navy blue shorts and sandals toting a water bottle while smoking a cigarette. He had his locks on top pulled back into a ponytail and sported a beard.

The latest: Britney Spears ‘ ex-husband Kevin Federline was seen at a Los Angeles park on Tuesday taking in his daughter’s soccer game, weeks after he made a number of revelations in an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com and ITV

‘I try to explain to them, “Look, maybe that’s just another way she tries to express herself,”‘ he said. ‘But that doesn’t take away from the fact of what it does to them. It’s tough. I can’t imagine how it feels to be a teenager having to go to high school.’

Spears took to Instagram earlier this month with an apology for her sons Jayden and Preston after the former expressed frustration over her social media activity earlier this month.

Jayden, 16, speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com and ITV, was critical of her frequent social media posting in a new interview, saying, ‘it’s almost like she has to post something on Instagram to get some attention.’

The Grammy-winning singer, 40, who has 42 million followers on the platform, said in a post she later deleted that she was ‘angry’ about the comments, and was ‘not willing to see’ her sons until she feels ‘valued.’

The Fresno, California-born Federline was seen taking a puff of a cigarette

In the interview, Federline said that ‘the boys have decided they are not seeing her right now,’ as ‘it’s been a few months since they’ve seen her.’

He noted that ‘they made the decision not to go to her wedding’ to Sam Asghari this past June.

In the interview, Federline said that he thought the longtime conservatorship Spears lived under, under her father Jamie’s control, had ‘saved’ her.

‘I saw this man that really cared, and really cares about his family and wanting everything to be OK,’ he said. ‘When Jamie took over, things got into order. He saved her life.’

He added: ‘This whole thing has been hard to watch, harder to live through, harder to watch my boys go through than anything else. It’s been tough. It’s the most challenging thing I’ve ever had to do in my life.’

Federline said he gave the interview to try and help Spears understand what her sons were experiencing as she continues to make headlines on a number of fronts.

Federline sparked controversy last month with a number of revelations involving Spears

Federline, who is father to six children in total, took a sip of water on the windy day

‘If there was a way – any way – I could possibly say something to just open [Britney’s] eyes – but I haven’t found that yet,’ he said. ‘I feel like, if I found that, I’d be on the phone trying to tell her.’

In the interview, he spoke of the tumultuous timeframe in which Spears had a number of public problems, and he was awarded sole custody of their sons prior to the beginning of her conservatorship.

‘There were so many different things that were happening within a short period of time,’ he said. ‘It just all came to a head and I don’t think anybody knew what to do. How can anybody prepare you?’

He said that his sons have ‘had a lot of questions about’ Britney’s past, and issues related to the conservatorship.

‘I don’t know that I can answer all of them for them but I just tried to explain to them that your mom needed help, you know, and the people were in play to try to make that happen, to make it better,’ he said.

Federline was wed to Spears in October of 2004, and Spears filed for divorce in November of 2006. He exchanged vows with current wife Victoria Prince, 39, in August of 2013.

He is father to six children: daughters Jordan, 11, and Peyton, eight, with his wife, Victoria Prince; and son Kaleb, 18, and daughter Kori, 20, from his relationship to Shar Jackson.
