The star has been extremely candid about her weight loss and recently revealed her weight ‘spiralled’ during the first lockdown to 17st4lb which was ‘morbidly obese’ for her 5ft4in height.

Writing a lengthy caption alongside her post on Wednesday, Chanelle detailed the ‘five lessons she’s learnt’ since having surgery – including how her relationship with food has changed and that she exercises differently now.

Candid: Writing a lengthy caption alongside her post, the former Big Brother star revealed her ‘five lessons I have learnt since having weight loss surgery’

She penned: ‘5 lessons I have learnt since having weight loss surgery.

‘1. It does not change my relationship with food. Bariatric surgery is only a tool, if I don’t use it consistently and correctly it will fail. Addressing abnormal relationships with food is so important if I want to become healthier physically and mentally.

‘2. Not everyone will understand my choice and that’s ok because it is MY journey. ‘Just eat less and move more’, ‘you’ve taken the easy option’, are a few comments I’ve heard along the way.

‘Believe me, it is not easy (wish it was!) and it was not an option I took lightly. But it has been the best decision I’ve made in terms of my health.

Wow: Chanelle also showed off her dramatic face weight loss on Friday, telling fans that her ‘confidence’ was knocked when she weighed 17st4lb and wore size 18 clothes

‘3. Exercise is different now. I’ve always enjoyed working out (I’m actually a qualified PT, crazy as this may seem) but I actually feel proud to exercise and improve my body after all the junk I’ve been feeding it all these years. It’s my way of saying ‘hey body, I’m sorry for abusing you…here’s an olive branch’ (or a dumbbell).

‘4. Weight looks different on everybody. I am trying to stop focussing on other people’s weights because my only competitor is myself.

‘Ten people could weigh exactly the same but have completely different body compositions. Selfishly (but thankfully) I now only care about myself and mine.

‘5. Even though I’ve lost weight, I’ve grown as a person. I have been every size you can think of and can empathise with the issues that come with them all. I realise people may plaster on a smile – at any size – but not be ok beneath the surface.

‘Going through this experience has really given me a better understanding of private struggles and how easy it is to hide them.’

Before and after: The mother-of-two has been sharing regular updates on her transformation as well as candid snaps showcasing her weight loss

The star then ended her post saying: ‘Thought I would share this today on #womancrushwednesday because my #wcw this week is ME… and I don’t think I’ve ever been able to say that before.’

It comes after Chanelle showed off her dramatic face weight loss in shocking before and after snaps on Friday.

Taking to Instagram to upload the snap she spoke about her weight loss and how she ballooned to 17st4lb and wore size 18 clothes which led to her confidence ‘spiralling’.

She went on to tell fans that when she was at her lowest all she saw on Instagram were ‘people portraying perfection’ but that she wants to be ‘transparent about her experience’.

Candid: Taking to Instagram last week, Chanelle explained that when she ballooned to 17st4lb and wore size 18 clothes her confidence was sent ‘spiralling’

She penned in the caption: ‘I’ve seen a lot of comments online calling me two-faced because years ago (2016) I did interviews saying I was happy being bigger than a size 8. Just to clarify, I was only a size 12 at this point, weighing around 12 stone and I did feel comfortable and happy with how I looked.

‘Over the following years my weight and lack of confidence spiralled and I had reached 17st 4lb and wore size 18 clothes. My health (mental and physical) was impacted and the happiness I felt at a size 12 was no longer there.’

She added: ‘I don’t like influencers who claim to love products or feel a certain way in order to earn money and me changing my mind about my self-image didn’t earn me any money, it just refocused my mind to put my health front and centre. I

‘ don’t ‘change my mind’ in order to gain financially, I’ve turned down a lot to stay true to myself.

Before… It comes after Chanelle shed further light on her gastric sleeve surgery and shared images from her stint in hospital and her pre-weight loss body

‘I’m sharing these posts to be transparent about my experience, not to push products or snake oil. When I was at my highest weight , and lowest emotionally, all I saw on Instagram was a bunch of people portraying perfection. And I felt like a failure.’

She signed off by saying: ‘Nobody has a perfect life, everybody wants something they don’t already have. So this is me showing that it’s ok to feel less than perfect, it’s ok to choose a different road to what we thought we wanted, and that being me is enough.’

It comes after earlier on Friday Chanelle shed further light on her gastric sleeve surgery and shared images from her stint in hospital and her pre-weight loss body.

The star, who is 5ft4in tall, shared an throwback image showing her wearing just a thong and detailed how she was 17st4lb when she decided to undergo the surgery before losing 13lbs prior to the operation.

Hurt: In a Q&A with fans, she also explained the reasons for going under the knife, as she penned: ‘It was an accumulation of things: medical issues related to obesity, mental health deterioration, I hardly left the house. I needed a second chance at my health’

Preferable: She also revealed that she had excess skin from her huge weight loss but she insisted she would prefer the loose skin to having her health

In a Q&A with fans, she also explained the reasons for going under the knife, as she penned: ‘It was an accumulation of things: medical issues related to obesity, mental health deterioration, I hardly left the house. I needed a second chance at my health.’

Chanelle was asked if she felt she had any options, to which she wrote: ‘Yes definitely. I would have continued eating myself into an early grave had I not tried surgery. It isn’t for everyone and I researched it extensively and it changed my life.’

She also revealed that she had excess skin from her huge weight loss but she insisted she would prefer the loose skin to having her health.

One fan branded Chanelle brave for going public with her weight loss. Hitting out at the stigma attached to surgery, Chanelle replied: ‘For some reason it’s got such a stigma attached to it and it shouldn’t have.’

Since having her secret surgery, Chanelle now weighs 10st1lb and has a ‘normal’ BMI range after a total loss of 101lbs, 7st2lbs.

Candid: She took to Instagram to post the pictures as she admitted she was ‘nervous’ to share her transformation as she was in such a ‘low place’ mentally
