Charley Webb reveals her family have a curry instead of turkey roast on Christmas Day

Emmerdale actorCharley Webb has revealed that her family will be having a curry this Christmas, instead of a traditional turkey roast.

Charley, 33, who’s married to fellow Emmerdale star Matthew Wolfenden, broke the news on Instagram after being asked by one of her 540,000 followers if she’d be cooking a Christmas dinner for the family of five.

Charley and Matthew, 41, have three boys together: Ace, two, Bowie, five and Buster, 11.

The actor, who plays Debbie Dingle in the hit ITV soap, replied to the question: “Absolutely not. Also we have a curry on Christmas Day. I'm not a fan of turkey and we have a roast every Sunday so it makes sense."

While the family don’t follow the usual tradition of a Christmas roast, Charley, Matthew and the kids still decorate their house andrecently showed off their lovely tree.

In a video shared on social media, Charley held up a bauble in front of a bare tree, before throwing the ornament towards it.

The clip was then cleverly edited so that once the bauble hit the tree, it became beautifully decorated and filled with lights before the family proceeded to dance around the tree.

“Christmas has officially begun in this house,” Charley wrote alongside the video.

Included in the video is Charley and Matthew’s eldest son Buster, who has apparently expressed an interest in following in his parents' showbiz footsteps.

Discussing how Buster may take up acting, the mum of three told OK!: “I’ve always been very honest with him that it’s not an easy industry and it’s not the industry I would choose for my children, but at the same time you have to let them do what they want.

“If he wanted to be a doctor, I’d support him. I can’t just say, ‘I don’t want you to do that,’ because it’s not my decision. We just have to guide him. It was in my blood. I’ve known I wanted to be an actress since I was eight so it would be cruel to not let him follow his dreams.”

Charley further gushed over her son’s singing skills, and said that performing was “in his blood” too.

“It’s just naturally in him. He goes to singing lessons every Thursday and he also does drama and dance so he’s definitely got it in him – it’s in his blood,” she explained.
