‘No one prepares you for the pain you go through’: Charlotte Dawson details her tough breastfeeding journey with son Noah as she says she felt like her nipples were going to ‘fall off’
She welcomed her first child, a son called Noah, with fiancé Matthew Sarsfield last month.
And now Charlotte Dawson has detailed her difficult yet rewarding breastfeeding journey with her baby boy, telling her fans on Sunday that ‘No one prepares you for the pain you go through’.
The reality TV star, 28, candidly highlighted the realities of being a new mum on Instagram, with Charlotte stating that the first few weeks of nursing were so painful on her nipples that she felt they were going to ‘fall off’.

Charlotte had initially shared several snaps and penned a lengthy caption on Saturday, in which she gave an honest insight into breastfeeding her one-month-old baby.
She then reiterated many of her statements on her stories, stating on one snap: ‘No one prepares you for the pain you go through the first week, my nipples were literally cut, bruised & thought they were gonna fall off.’
The Ex On The Beach star added ‘thank God for nipple cream.’
Charlotte also looked a far cry from her usual glam self as she gave her followers an idea of just how tough it was being a new, exhausted mum.

Captioning one bleary-eyed snap of herself, Charlotte said: ‘This is when I was at my most exhausted drained emotional state, and wanted to give up.’
The TV personality went on to say that though the experience is exhausting and painful, she’s glad she didn’t give up because feeding her baby is all that matters.
She added on her grid post: ‘The sleepless nights, the cluster feeding & how painful it was on my t**ties… but I carried on & stayed strong.
‘I’m not gonna sugar coat it, it’s hard.. your on demand constantly I feel like I can’t get anything done.

‘But it’s so rewarding and the pain gets less & less and doesn’t hurt anymore it’s crazy.’
She went on: ‘So glad I did stick to it because it got so much better, I mean the first latch still makes ya bunions curl… I’m not going to put pressure on myself though, as I know people say breast is best.. but fed is best.
‘If I do a few more weeks or a few more months amazing but if I can’t I’m not a failure.’
The former Celebs Go Dating star then gave a kind message of support to her fellow new mums, before then explaining that she’s now eased into a ‘routine’ for baby Noah’s feeds, adding that things get ‘easier’.

‘I’m honestly loving it now though got into more of a routine (never thought chazza would ever say the word routine)
‘I’ve started expressing so Matthew can do a few feeds which is nice (started pace feeding so he doesn’t go off my boob) and a I’m loving my little magical bond with my Noah .. it gets easier.’ [sic]
Charlotte’s breastfeeding account comes after she revealed she believes her late father Les’ spirit lives on after claiming she feels his ‘presence’ around her one-month-old son, Noah.
The beauty, who lost her father when she was eight-months-old, admitted she is ‘heartbroken’ he will never meet her child, but nevertheless feels he is guiding them through life.
She said to The Daily Star on Saturday: ‘I have felt my dad’s presence since Noah has been here. He is definitely around us.

‘Noah has the same star sign as my dad and he was born exactly a week before dad’s birthday. So I definitely feel like my dad is around us and looking after us and guiding us.
‘I am heartbroken that my dad isn’t going to meet Noah.’
Her father Les was a celebrated comedian and he passed away in 1993 after suffering from a heart attack.
Charlotte said she feels ‘lucky’ that Noah will be able to see his grandfather growing up by watching home footage or clips on Youtube.

She also revealed her plans to take her son to see his bronze statue in Lancashire, which was erected in 2008 to honour his legacy.
According to the reality star, she has a cardboard cut-out of her father at home which she hopes won’t ‘scare’ Noah, as she plans to bring it our for Christmas dinner.
Charlotte, who shot to stardom on shows such as Ex On The Beach and Celebs Go Dating, welcomed her baby boy in January alongside her fiancé Matthew Sarsfield.
She was famed for her wild partying antics and quirky sense of humour.
She said to The Daily Star on Saturday: ‘Noah has the same star sign as my dad. And he was born exactly a week before dad’s birthday. So I definitely feel like my dad is around us…’
But the 28-year-old mother insists her partying days are truly behind her as she enjoys her homely life with her partner and their son.
‘I’m not a wild child any more. I’m a mother now,’ she added.
Charlotte confessed she has experienced highs and lows and sometimes struggles with life, but said being a parent alongside Matthew is the ‘most amazing feeling in the world.’
Now, the mother-of-one hopes to follow in her father’s footsteps once more by appearing on TV for the new reality show, Celebrity Bumps.
A trailer for a new MTV show documenting six celebrity couples’ journey’s to parenthood was released on Thursday.
The nine-part series will follow the highs and lows of pregnancy to parenthood- all while in lockdown and will premiere on March 3.
She said her father had ‘lots of home footage,’ and she can’t wait to make new memories with her family on the forthcoming programme.
