Cher, 76, revisits youthful leather look from iconic music video

Cher turns back time! Smitten singer, 76, revisits youthful leather look from iconic music video after finding love again with MUCH younger boyfriend

Cher looked shockingly youthful as she arrived in a leather ensemble seemingly inspired by one of her most iconic looks at the 2022 Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Awards in New York City on Monday.

The 76-year-old beauty looked years younger than her true age in a dress with a top designed to mimic a leather biker jacket that seemed indebted to the music video for her hit 1989 single If I Could Turn Back Time.

The songstress walked the red carpet in her age-defying ensemble after confirming her romance with her toyboy music producer boyfriend Alexander Edwards who, at 36, is 40 years her junior.

Cher’s edgy top featured the off-center zipper of a biker jacket, though the top was pulled down to reveal her shoulders.

She paid tribute to 1980s fashion by scrunching up her sleeves to her forearms, and she put her zipper down at half-mast to highlight her cleavage.

The Moonstruck star complemented the jacket with a long black skirt that had a modest train, though she held it up in her hand while posing on the red carpet.

The mononymous singer and actor (born Cherilyn Sarkisian) had a high slit on her skirt that showed off her trim legs and was pinned together with two diagonal cross pins.

Cher elevated her 5ft7in stature black platform open-toe heels that strapped around her ankles, and she accessorized with a silver chain necklace and a thick diamond-encrusted bracelet.

She showed off her winning smile while wearing her long jet black hair parted down the middle and cascading down her shoulders in thick waves.

The septuagenarian previously caused a sensation in a black leather jacket in her If I Could Turn Back Time music video, which was shot aboard the USS Missouri battleship near Los Angeles in 1989.

While performing in front of her band on the deck and surrounded by cheering sailors, Cher was dressed in her open leather jacket, which revealed a considerably racier sheer black suit with just a V-shaped black monokini-like strip to protect her modesty.

Edgy: She wore her jacket over a sheer black suit with just a V-shape to protect her modesty, and the video was subsequently banned on several TV channels. It also caused controversy within the navy for allowing it to be filmed on a battleship

The video caused an uproar and was banned by several television channels, while MTV was only willing to air the video after 9 p.m. until a more chaste version was reedited.

The risqué outfit, combined with suggestive scenes in which Cher — in a more modest outfit — straddled a massive gun on the deck, angered Navy officials, though no one was ultimately disciplined for allowing the video shoot to go on.

The single, which led Cher’s 1989 album Heart Of Stone, ultimately reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

Cher was joined at the CFDA awards on the red carpet by fashion designer Richard Stark, who wore a black pinstripe three-piece suit with rolled up sleeves, along with his wife Laurie Lynn Stark, who had on a cheer powder blue dress that left little to the imagination and was decorated with Old English text letters.

Owning it: Cher’s outing comes amid her new romance with music producer Alexander Edwards, who is 40 years her junior. She defended their age gap on Twitter and said, ‘Love doesn’t know math’

Cher’s outing comes amid her new romance with music producer Alexander Edwards, who is 40 years her junior.

The two were seen being affectionate and holding hands around Los Angeles in recent days, and the Oscar winner confirmed her relationship while defending their age gap on Twitter.

She wrote that, ‘Love doesn’t know math,’ while claiming that Alexander treats her ‘like a queen.’ She also shared that the two first met last month at Paris Fashion Week.

The producer is best known for his earlier relationship with Kanye West’s ex-girlfriend Amber Rose, with whom he shares his three-year-old son Slash Electric Alexander Edwards.

In August of this year, Amber accused Alexander of having cheated on her with 12 different people during their relationship, and he later admitted to having been unfaithful on social media.

However, Cher stressed in her responses on Twitter that she was ‘not blinded by’ love.
