Elsa Pataky reveals her obsession with working out – and says she even encourages her friends to ‘do lunges’ when they’re walking down the beach
There’s no doubt about it, Elsa Pataky is dedicated to fitness and her body is definitely reaping the benefits.
In a recent interview with Jones Magazine, the 43-year-old revealed she is so ‘obsessive’ when it comes to working out, she tries to get her pals to join her during everyday activities.
‘When I’m walking with my friends on the beach I’m like, “Why are we just walking? Why don’t we do lunges while we’re walking? Just a few! Ten!”‘ she said.

The actress said her biggest motivator isn’t just physical fitness but clarity of mind.
‘I exercise every time I have the opportunity, just for my head and mind. Every time I feel like I’m being lazy I get in some push-ups,’ she explained.
Elsa complements her weight-training, yoga practice and cardio with a Mediterranean diet, and avoids any ‘quick-fix diets’.
Mind over matter: ‘I exercise every time I have the opportunity, just for my head and mind. Every time I feel like I’m being lazy I get in some push-ups,’ she added
The Mediterranean diet, which is inspired by the eating habits of Italians and Greeks in the 1960s, is generally high in vegetables, fruits, legumes, whole grains, nuts, seeds and olive oil.
‘I don’t believe anything about diets, like quick diets that you do before summer. Those miracles don’t exist,’ Elsa said on Sunrise in November.
Instead of crash dieting, the mother of three emphasised the importance of adopting an overall health-focused philosophy.
‘Eat healthier, like Mediterranean food every day, not just [for] periods of time,’ she said.

Elsa also likes to get her three children involved when she is working out at home in Byron Bay, and has created ‘circuits’ for them to complete with toy weights.
However, she warned that mothers should expect to have their workouts interrupted on a regular basis.
‘Of course, you stop 100 times because they are fighting or something like that!’ Elsa laughed.
Elsa and her husband, Chris Hemsworth, 37, share three children, daughter India Rose, eight, and twin sons Tristan and Sasha, six.
