Claire Richards furiously slams Twitter bosses over trolling as she’s branded ‘vile and rude’

Steps' Claire Richards is tired of receiving abuse on social media.

The 45 year old mum-of-two made herself heard on Twitter over the weekend, in the wake of some truly mean-spirited messages from trolls.

Claire's retaliation began with: "Wow Twitter is all about giving tonight! I’m not sure I’ve ever been called a vile rude b***h, the fat one from steps, a self obsessed chav, and told I can’t have any kind of ego as I only sing songs for 8 year olds in 4 consecutive tweets! What a world we live in 2023.

"Not sure what triggered all that but deffo a massive reason why Twitter is a toxic platform!" she stressed, before calling out several departments for their lack of control.

"Whoever is in charge should be ashamed of themselves!! @verified @Twitter @TwitterCreators @TwitterSupport @TwitterMktgUK @TwitterBusiness."

Despite these strong feelings towards management, the Tragedy and Deeper Shade of Blue songstress was quick to point out that she was "fine".

"I’m just sick and tired of this s**t. It’s just not cool. Luckily I’m a 45 year thats heard it all and cares less now but we’re not all there yet!!

"It’s irresponsible of the people that run it," concluded her third tweet.

After reading what Claire has to endure on a regular basis, her fanbase reached out some comments of support.

"So sorry you have to deal with that disgusting jealous people," wrote one individual.

"Scary if that type of abuse happens to a person who is in a tough headspace or young. Twitter must do better. However, I reported something and got an email back saying that Twitter will allow some violent content. X"

Another two went on to share: "You’re amazing, it’s hard sometimes to ignore the comments, but they have nothing better to do" and "Oh Claire you keep doing you. As a Steps fan since 1997 I for one absolutely am grateful for what you and Steps have done for the music industry and will continue to do, haters will be haters but keep going your awesome :)."

And finally, a fourth user suggested that times were "so much simpler back in the day" without social media.

"Now, social platforms have given some people 'too much' opportunity to be vile. People are only bitter out of Jealousy or desire which saddens me, everybody has it within them to be successful."
