Daisy Ridley has revealed she has been keeping busy during lockdown by learning to be a doula and called it ‘an amazing thing to do’. 

The Star Wars actress, 28, explained that she did a course on becoming the non-medical professional, who provide mothers-to-be with support during child birth, and called it ‘beautiful’. 

Speaking on Friday night’s forthcoming episode of The Graham Norton Show, she said: ‘I did a course on how to be a doula.

‘It was a really amazing thing to do and so beautiful. It was great, but I’m am not actually going to do it.’ 

The star added: ‘But, I would love to support someone have a baby.’  

Daisy spoke about her new new sci-fi adventure flick Chaos Walking, which she stars in alongside Tom Holland.

The British actress revealed she thought she ‘might die’ during filming and described the challenging scene as ‘really scary’.  

She said: ‘There are two times when I thought I might die in water, one was during the film’s river scene and one was in a theme park in Prague.

‘Both times the water was really fast, and I inhaled it. It was really scary.’ 

The star looked chic in an all black ensemble, sporting a blouse with a statement ruffle down the centre and a skirt suit.

She added a pair of over the knee boots to her look and wore her hair in a slick updo to add to her business-chic vibe. 

Daisy, who played Rey Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise, responded to rumours she had been cast to play Spider Woman.

She said: ‘It’s funny, I did this chat with a lovely woman and she asked me if it was true, it was the first time I’d heard of it.

‘Grown up’: Daisy, who played  Rey Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise, said she feels ‘grown up now that I am doing other things’ when asked if she misses being in the films 

‘Then the next day people kept texting me about it and it keeps being brought up, there are a million other people who could do it, but perhaps I can will it into existence!’

Asked if she misses being in Star Wars, she says, ‘I actually feel grown up now that I am doing other things. It’s so nice.’
