Denise Welch admitted that she asks all the girlfriends of her 1975 singer son Matty Healy if they would like to have children one day.
The former Coronation Street star, 64, shares the 1975 musician, 33, and actor Louis, 22, with ex-husband and Benidorm star Tim Healy.
Speaking on ITV’s Loose Women about the topic of asking couples if they intend to have children, Denise said she does like to ask her son’s partners and believes that it’s ‘fundamental’.

‘If Matty had a steady girlfriend, I do like to ask if she would be somebody that would want to have a family’, she explained on the show on Wednesday.
She added: ‘Because I watch a lot of rubbish reality television but one of the [similarities] is the amount of people on these shows (like 90 Day Fiancé and all of these things that i love to watch) is that they get married without really securing the conversation of having children. And it’s fundamental’.
Most recently, the singer was said to be secretly dating a Canadian model and influencer, according to a new report last month.

Matty was said to be have been seeing Charlotte Briar D’Alessio following his split from FKA twigs earlier this year.
According to The Sun, the pair were seeing each other for a number of weeks, with the model often spotted backstage during the bands US tour.
A source told the publication: ‘Matty and Charlotte have been quietly dating for a number of weeks and are head over heels for each other.
‘It is early days and they are taking things slowly but it is clear to everyone who knows Matty how keen he is on her.

‘They have been really subtle about being seen together, but backstage at his gigs, Charlotte is often there.’
Matt and FKA twigs ended their relationship after over two years of dating in June of this year.
The pair reportedly called things off due to “work commitments” following lockdown and the final throes of the coronavirus pandemic, among them the promotion and release of a fifth album from The 1975.

Meanwhile, the musician is becoming increasingly known for his daring acts during his concerts.
Matty continued to cause a stir on Twitter last week, by locking lips with fans and sucking on their fingers during a gig in Brighton.
The singer ended up trending on social media after he approached the crowd and French kissed a fan during a song.
In videos captured from the concert, he could also be seen sucking on one woman’s thumb.

At the end of last year, she sent fans into hysterics when she spoke out about his gig with his band The 1975.
Denise watched as he entertained the audience with a saucy segment where he smoked and ran his hands over his crotch.
Taking to Twitter one fan wrote ‘RIP to anyone going to this show with their parents’ only for Denise to exclaim: ‘What if you ARE the parent!!!’.

During a break in singing the star sat back on a leather couch and kicked off his shoes, to his left was an ashtray and a large oxygen tank.
Fans rushed to the comment section with dozens telling the actress to ‘close her eyes’.
While another added: ‘You’ve raised a real interesting man that’s for sure’.
And another praised the star saying: ‘We support our children regardless’.

More recently, Matty looked worse for wear as he stepped out after The 1975 afterparty alongside the likes of Charli XCX after their O2 Arena performance.
The singer put on a bleary-eyed display as he squinted and flashed the peace sign while leaving the party at London’s The Standard Hotel in the early hours.
He was joined by Charli XCX, who is dating The 1975’s drummer George Daniel, as she put on a leggy display for the fun-filled night out.
It comes after a TikTok video showed Matty vowing not to kiss his fans in front of Taylor Swift, after she made a surprise appearance at his O2 show.

But Denise was every inch the proud mother as she shared a sweet picture with Taylor Swift from backstage, after the singer made a surprise appearance on stage during the gig.
Denise couldn’t wipe the smile off her face as she posed with the hitmaker, posting a picture on Instagram.
‘Oh what a night at a sold out 02. So proud I can’t even begin!!’ Denise’s post was captioned.

The singer, 33, showed off her polished vocals while clad in a glittering mirror dress during an acoustic performance of the track at the city’s O2 Arena.
Taylor walked onstage during the band’s set to perform and also covered their 2013 song, The City.
Matt previously revealed the band worked with Taylor on her latest album Midnights, but their tracks didn’t make the cut.

He told KROQ’s Klein/Ally Show for Audacy’s DTS Sound Space: ‘We actually worked a bit on that but then the version of it never came out.’
The star was then booed and he responded: ‘That’s not how it works. It was for reasons that are not to be criticised. She’s amazing.’
Taylor and The 1975 have been friends for years, with the songstress spotted at their concerts and sharing producer Jack Antonoff.
