Legendary singer Dionne Warwick has revealed that she is a fan of Nicki Minaj.
Over the weekend, Warwick was asked by Minaj fans whether she too was a “Barb.” Warwick responded with a question, “I keep seeing this. What does this mean?”
After her followers gave an explanation of the term, she replied, “Nicki Minaj has a wonderful career. Yes.”
Minaj’s fans are known as “Barbs,” especially female ones, which come from her alter-ego name Harajuku Barbie.
“I hope @NICKIMINAJ likes my hair. It is very different now,” Warwick tweeted a day later.
Warwick is a popular singer and actress, who ranks among the 40 biggest hit makers between 1955 and 1999, based on her chart history on Billboard‘s Hot 100 pop singles chart. She is one of the most-charted female vocalists of all time.
Last week, Warwick praised Teyana Taylor and said she would like to see Taylor portray her in a biopic.
“Please don’t ask who I would cast to play me as it would obviously be Teyana Taylor,” she said. Netflix responded that they’re “taking notes.”
