Emma Barton is dating 90s rocker Jason Perry.
The singer made a name for himself in the band ‘A’, which formed in the 1980s. Initially named ‘Grand Designs’, the band changed its name in 1993.
Almost a decade on, their popular track Starbucks made it into the UK top 20 in 2002, with their song Nothing also making it big and topping the charts the same year.
While he appears to have kept a low profile in recent years, Jason, 53, may be throwing himself back into the limelight in light of his new relationship with Emma.
Emma, who’s best known for playing Honey Mitchell in EastEnders, was previously married to lawyer Nigel Stoat. The pair married in 2002, but sadly divorced three years later shortly after her EastEnders debut.
It’s evident Emma hasn’t given up on love though, and reportedly went on to date Britain’s Got Talent’s Stephen Mulhern, as well as EastEnders’ co-star Joel Beckett.
Now Emma, 45, has been linked to Jason – and the pair are said to be “smitten” with one another.
A friend told the Sun on Sunday of their romance: “The couple are smitten with each other and are very sweet to be around.”
The pair have shared snaps on Instagram hinting at the romance, with Emma and Jason appearing to have recently gone on a staycation together.
In a series of photos shared to Emma’s Instagram page earlier this month, she looked loved up with Jason during a stay in an adorable shepherd’s hut.
“Recharged the batteries…” she wrote. “Weekend full of beauty, peace, nature, love, food & drink….”
While she didn’t mention Jason in the caption, she did tag him in the first snap of their hut, with the last photo of her Instagram post being a selfie of them together.
Replying to the post, Jason wrote after a string of heart emojis: “the best time with you Emma. Wish we still had some soup left.”
Another snap shared the same day was of the soap star looking beautiful in a candid photo. She credited Jason as the photographer.
Meanwhile on Jason’s page, he shared a photograph with Emma.
“Saturday morning loveliness,” he wrote alongside it.
The new flames also took a trip to Bournemouth before Christmas, and undeniably looked happier than ever.
Dating back to early December, Jason shared a photograph of Emma where he referred to her as his girlfriend.
“Super proud of my hard working and talented girlfriend @theemmabarton as she takes to the theatre for her Xmas run,” he gushed.
“No idea where she is finding the energy and I want to wish her all the luck and best wishes and love in the world. For me, these last few years have been a little tougher at this time of year but I'm feeling happier than ever thanks to this gorgeous lady ! Bring it on.”
It’s unclear how long the happy couple have been dating for.
