The 31-year-old doctor, who is currently working on the NHS frontline amid the coronavirus pandemic, gave birth to Amelia in 2014, before going on to marry the Mysterious Girl singer in 2015.
Commenting on Stacey’s feeling of shame after receiving horrid looks while pregnant as a teen, Emily said: ‘Unfortunately, I think the stigma around being a young mum can still exist, but it’s wrong and nobody should judge you for the age you decide to have children. We need to support young mums.’
She then went on to reflect on her own experiences of motherhood and told how at times it could be ‘challenging’, adding that she believes age 24 is still relatively ‘young’ to become a mother.

She explained: ‘I was 24 when I had Millie, which I still count as quite young. That was hard at times, too. It’s really challenging and the last thing you need is people giving you dirty looks! Thankfully, I had a positive experience.’
And while Emily feels that having a child at 24 is still young, she commented on the changing attitudes to motherhood, noting that in the past, welcoming a first child at 24 would have been deemed ‘old’.
The medic added: ‘I think that only a few generations ago people became parents much younger, and it’s only relatively recently that attitudes have changed. Back then, 24 would probably have been old to have your first baby.’

Speaking in November, she said: ‘We’ve previously said we might have another baby after Theo goes to school and we’ve decided we’re gonna talk about it properly after Christmas…
‘I’m still unsure about being pregnant and giving birth in a pandemic. Even through there are various vaccines on the way, we may not be back to normal for some time.
In September, Emily spoke more about parenthood as she said: ‘After we had our youngest, Theo, he was really hard work. He really tested my parenting skills. Now he’s gone to school, we started to think about it, I don’t know.’
While Peter who previously ruled out further children after their son was born admitted that he’s now open to the idea, adding it’s up to his wife but ‘I’m OK with it.’
