Emma and Jade, 42, met when they were 21 and 19 respectively, and the popstar was quick to gush about their instant chemistry, revealing that she instantly knew Jade was her ‘soul mate’.
When Holly branded her ‘lucky’ for ‘meeting the love of her life early on’, Emma explained: ‘It was very immediate, as soon as I looked at him I thought ”this is so special”.’
She went on: ‘He felt exactly the same. We had very magical moments very early on and we were both taken back about that.
‘We would talk about children, it was very intense very quickly. Both of us knew we wanted to be together. We’re soul mates.’

She added: ‘[But] it hit us that we were so young and both of us haven’t done everything, we did have a break.
‘I think it was more ”oh my god, we’ve met the person we’re going to spend the rest of our life with and we’re 19 and 21”, it was such a bizarre time.’
Holly then asked: ‘Do you think having that break helped? Did it serve its purpose?’ to which Emma replied: ‘Definitely. First of all, I was on tour, he was on tour, so I think we would have both taken that time apart anyway.’
She went on: ‘But it gave us time to grow as people and when we came back together it was amazing.

‘But we needed that time to go ”OK, I’ve met that person that I’m in love with and want to spend the rest of my life with, what do I kind of need to do in this little time just to explore and know it’s 100%?” It worked a treat.’
Emma and Jade – who was in boy band Damage between 1996 and 2001 – share children Beau, 13, and Tate, 10, and in July tied the knot after 23 years together.
Elsewhere in her chat with Holly, Emma sweetly shared that Beau and Tate are her ‘biggest success’.
She gushed: ‘My children [are my biggest success], 100% my children.’

She continued: ‘Becoming a mother, everything fell into place. I felt the most content I’ve ever felt. I just love them with my whole being. That is my greatest achievement.’
The mother-of-two also opened up about her early days with blockbuster girl group The Spice Girls, recalling her audition for the group aged just 19 and the first time she ever spent time with her fellow bandmates, Mel B, Melanie C, Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham, after moving to Maidenhead to live with them.
Emma began: ‘One day a singing teacher said to me ”there’s a couple of girls together and they need an extra girl, will you go and audition to be part of this girl group?”
‘I was just like, ”OK, of course”, it was just like another audition when I got a song ready – which I’d done many times and not got very far.

‘I took my mum and I went along and I sang, and literally, they said to me, ”would you move in with the girls?” that day. I just felt very nervous. It was my first time away from home, it was just a crazy time.’
Emma added: ‘The next day, I packed a little bag and my mum drove me up to Maidenhead to meet the crazy girls that I love.’
The star also revealed that as soon as she met her bandmates ‘magic happened’, explaining: ‘As soon as I met those girls, something magic happened.
‘I got in Geri’s little car and I looked around and they were staring at me, all four faces, and it was like a spark of energy. It just worked immediately.’
