The Crown star Emma Corrin channels The Crucible with her pale yellow bonnet and matching dress at star-studded Emmy Awards screening in London
She is famed for playing the role of Princess Diana on The Crown.
But Emma Corrin decided to channel Winona Rider’s character Abigail Williams from The Crucible on Sunday at the Emmy Awards screening in London.
The actress, 25, took inspiration from the 1996 film as she donned a pale yellow bonnet and matching long-length dress for the red carpet event.
Far from Diana:Emma Corrin decided to channel Winona Rider’s character Abigail Williams from The Crucible on Sunday at the Emmy Awards screening in London
The star, who changed her pronouns to she/they on her Instagram bio earlier this year, looked sleek in the outfit – which also featured long fingerless gloves.
Emma slicked her hair away from their face so that the headpiece could sit effortlessly, while she opted for a pared-down makeup palette.
Taking to Instagram to share some shots of her Emmy’s gown, Emma wrote: ‘crucible realness for EMMYS 2021’.

The film is a dramatized story of the Salem witch trials and follows married man John Proctor (Daniel Day-Lewis) breaking off his affair with his young lover, Abigail Williams (Winona).
Winona’s character leads other girls in a rite to wish death upon his wife, Elizabeth (Joan Allen). When the ritual is discovered, the girls are brought to trial.
The performer has addressed her decision to publicly request their pronouns be she/they, explaining it was important to put their ‘authentic’ self out there.

Speaking with W magazine, she also recalled her first kiss and discussed her first love, as well as taking part in a kooky accompanying photoshoot.
While Emma did not want to discuss the specifics surrounding their decision to change their pronouns, they was aware that it would create headlines.
‘It’s hard when you have a platform, but I want to make everything feel very authentic,’ Emma said.
Spooky! The star showed off her Halloween-worthy black claws through her fingerless gloves
‘I think we’ve become much more aware of our positions in our communities and the circles in which we operate.’
Elsewhere in the chat, Emma reflected on her first kiss, admitting it wasn’t quite the romantic moment they had hoped for.
They recalled: ‘It was under a tree in a park by my house and there were a group of guys playing rugby really nearby and they were grunting and making weird noises.

‘And I remember I laughed throughout the kiss… yep, broke up with me a week later guys, I was heartbroken, heartbroken!’
Emma went on to reference ‘the love of their life’, but did not identify the mystery suitor or whether they are still together.
She said: ‘You know you have that person who’s the first love of your love of life kind of person, I remember when we kissed for the first time.
‘It was at at the end of my driveway and at night where he dropped me off from our date. And I ran up the driveway screaming. I felt like I was in a film and there should have been a backing track of me running in slow motion.’
