Prior to her success as a presenter, the mother-of-three began her career by joining the modelling industry.
In 2019, Emma revealed that she was told to ‘lose weight right away’ when she first started as a size 10 teenager.
The television presenter explained she was glad to leave her catwalk career behind, admitting photographers would only ever shoot her from ‘above the knees’ at the time because she ‘didn’t have model-skinny legs’.

The mother-of-three spoke about her body confidence in a candid interview with Women’s Health magazine at the time.
Emma explained: ‘I was 18 years old and a size 10 when I started modelling, but I was told to lose weight right away. And I would only ever be shot from above the knees, because I didn’t have model-skinny legs.
‘I was extremely happy when that part of my career fizzled out and telly happened, because I didn’t have to think about it any more.’
Emma – who is a mother to Isabelle, 11, Ace, nine, and Trixie, five, with musician husband Matt, 38 – said she grew to love her body in her 30s because it had produced her children.

She said: ‘It’s funny because, when I was younger, my body was “better”, but I was more insecure about it. Then, in my 30s, I had children, so I loved my body because of what it had produced.’
Emma said that she now takes care of her body from ‘the inside’ rather than worrying what it looks like from ‘the outside’ as she wants it to ‘last for as long as possible’.
The star also explained she is conscious not to discuss weight or body image too much around her children, and would rather focus on ‘their character’ than the way they look.
Emma spoke to the publication due to being an ambassador for their Project Body Love – Women’s Health’s biggest ever campaign to improve the body confidence of UK women and girls.
