Emmerdale ‘hit with 74 Ofcom complaints’ as unimpressed viewers criticise Ben Tucker’s violent death at the hands of serial killer Meena Jutla
Emmerdale has received complaints from unimpressed viewers following the murder of Ben Tucker (Simon Lennon) by Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu).
According to Metro, Ofcom received 74 complaints about the dramatic scene which aired on Thursday September 25.
Serial killer Meena was determined to get her hands on footage that proved she had attempted to murder Victoria Barton.

Ben found himself in Meena’s firing line after he got his hands on the tape and ended up making a run for it.
Meena followed him but then slipped on spilled alcohol and appeared to hit her head.
Ben left the footage in his car and then returned to check on Meena but found she had disappeared.
Circling back to the car, he saw the footage was now gone before Meena attacked him with an oar.

Meena then re-watched the footage of her attempted murder of Victoria as Ben screamed for help, before she beat him to death.
MailOnline has contacted ITV for comment.
The shocking death hadn’t been revealed by soap bosses, and spelled the end of Ben’s year-long stint in the village.
But many fans weren’t pleased that Meena had once again avoided being exposed, quickly flooding social media with their views.
One wrote: ‘So Dawn forgets to mention that it was Meena who was telling her that Billy wasn’t over her? Erm thats essential info! I’m tempted to turn off.’

Another added: ‘Ah yes a serial killer is chasing after you and you go back to see if they’re okay.’
A third added: ‘If Meena kills again and gets away with it, then I’m giving up with this show.’
‘Anyone else bored of this Meena storyline now? Can she either be found out of meet a very sticky end cos at this rate, she will have murdered most of the village by new year,’ one viewer tweeted.
A fan also posted: ‘Meena storylines are really doing my head in like how she’s getting away in murdering people and still gets away with it.’

‘This Meena storyline is boring. It’s unrealistic for a person to act so weird and off and get away with everything they do. The sooner it ends the better,’ a viewer posted.
Viewers saw Ben’s boyfriend Aaron discover his partner has been killed, setting the stage for his exit after actor Danny Miller confirmed last week he’d quit the soap.
Ben became Meena’s third victim as she desperately attempted to cover up her crimes, after leaving Andrea to meet her maker in the burning corn maze during the dramatic survival week.
Over the summer she killed teen Leanna Cavanagh after she discovered Meena secretly stole money from the village’s gay pride collection, and had murdered her best friend Nadine before moving to the village.

After Andrea discovered Meena’s role in Leanna’s death, she then met a sticky end, and since then viewers have been praying for the moment the murderous nurse is finally exposed.
Little has been revealed about when, or if, Meena every gets found out, though actress Paige Sandhu has shared her idea scenario.
She said: ‘In my dreams, this is what happens. Manpreet and Meena are there in the street. It’s nighttime and Meena’s about to kill someone, so Manpreet has to save this person,’ she said.
‘The only way Manpreet can save this person is by killing Meena, so she does it.
‘Then Meena dies in Manpreet’s arms and they have this beautiful sisterly moment where Meena almost confesses love for her. She’s almost normal and able to feel something – and then she dies! That’s what I want.’
