Flying high with Princess Di, it’s The Crown’s little princes: New images from next series of the hit drama show Dominic West as Prince Charles with his on-screen wife and sons

Climbing out of a car in perfectly coiffured style, actress Elizabeth Debicki has clearly got Diana down to a tee.

Shots of the next series of The Crown show her on set as the Princess of Wales with Dominic West as Charles and their on-screen sons.

They were filming at Dunsfold Aerodrome, Surrey – recreating a scene thought to be the family arriving for a royal flight to Italy.

While West, 51, has replaced Josh O’Connor as the Prince of Wales, Australian Miss Debicki, 31, has taken over from Emma Corrin as Diana in the fifth series of the Netflix hit drama. 

It is not yet known who is playing young Princes William and Harry. In one image, West – dressed in a smart brown suit – is seen planting a kiss on his wife’s cheek, while another shows him affectionately touching Harry’s neck. 

The breakdown of Charles and Diana’s relationship will be a central part of the new series. 

The fourth series of The Crown, which streamed in November last year, told the story of the early romance between Charles and Diana.

Last month the Mail shared exclusive first look pictures of Trainspotting star Jonny Lee Miller as former prime minister Sir John Major and Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip.

Imelda Staunton will replace Olivia Colman as the Queen in the new episodes and Lesley Manville will take over the role of Princess Margaret from Helena Bonham Carter.

Other cast members include Emma Laird Craig as Sarah, Duchess of York and Marcia Warren as the Queen Mother.

Prince Charles and Princess Diana are pictured above in Spain. Episodes could deal with the separation of Prince Andrew from Sarah Ferguson, the fire at Windsor Castle and Princess Anne’s divorce from Mark Phillips, which all happened in 1992

While it is not yet known what storylines the fifth and sixth series will follow it has previously been said that they will bring the drama into the 21st century.
