Foo Fighters‘ “Waiting on a War” has reached the top of Billboard‘s Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, earning the band their record-extending eighth No. 1 on the tally.
“Waiting on a War” rose 3-1 on the March 20-dated chart, reflecting a 14 percent jump to 6 million audience impressions in the March 8-14 tracking period, according to MRC Data.
Billboard noted the track tops the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart despite not yet having reached No. 1 on any genre-specific charts.
However, the single has reached the top ten on Billboard‘s Mainstream Rock Airplay, Adult Alternative Airplay and Alternative Airplay charts.
Foo Fighters most recently topped the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart with “Shame Shame,” which remained at No. 1 for 11 weeks in November-January.
