‘It’s about time’: Supermodel Heidi Klum shares her thoughts on the rebranding of Victoria’s Secret and insists ‘things do need to change’

Heidi Klum has shared her thoughts on the Victoria’s Secret rebranding.

Appearing on Australia’s The Sunday Project this weekend, the supermodel, 48, who has walked the runway for the lingerie brand, said it was ‘about time’ for change.

‘About time, is all I can say. About time. As a model, you go there, you are happy to have a job. When you are not the company, you do what you are told.  But finally, looking at this now, I’m like, about time.

‘Good. You know, because things do need to change. They have been changing. It’s been taking too long.’

Heidi shared similar thoughts in this week’s issue of Body+Soul magazine.

The German-born beauty said: ‘I’m very excited that they’re understanding there are so many different people out there who want to have beautiful things to wear.’

The model revealed she is ecstatic to see a wide range of body types and people represented in fashion.

‘There are so many different people out there and they should all be able to see themselves in the campaigns and on the runways,’ Heidi said.

Victoria’s Secret recently unveiled their plans for a major re-brand, including a line-up of ‘diverse spokeswomen’ instead of scantily clad models.

The Victoria’s Secret Angels have been axed, replaced, according to a company announcement this week, with a ‘culturally relevant’ group of seven women who will form the ‘VS Collective’.

Victoria’s Secret’s new spokeswomen include the likes of actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas, 38, and soccer star Megan Rapinoe, 35.

The new generation of spokeswomen will not pose in lingerie, but will ‘instead appear on a podcast’ to discuss their stories.

The revamp has been described as ‘completely cause-driven’ with a focus on ‘inclusivity’.
