Heidi Range gives birth! Singer welcomes second baby girl named Athena with husband Alex Partakis
Heidi Range has welcomed her second child – a baby girl named Athena – with husband Alex Partakis.
The former Sugababes singer, 37, gave birth to a baby girl on August 5 and announced the happy news on Instagram, sharing a series of sweet photos online.
Heidi posted an image of herself cuddling her newborn in bed alongside a snap of the little girl wrapped in a blanket and another of her wearing a sweet baby grow.

Heidi wrote: ‘She’s here! We are delighted to introduce you to our little bundle of joy: Athena Veronica Partakis Born at 9.05pm, August 5th 2021, 6lb 1oz of pure love’
Heidi posted the sweet photos on social media on Sunday, accompanied by a touching message that read: ‘She’s here! We are delighted to introduce you to our little bundle of joy: Athena Veronica Partakis Born at 9.05pm, August 5th 2021, 6lb 1oz of pure love.’
The star and husband Alex, 41, are also parents to daughter Aurelia, three. The family were soon inundated with well-wishes from Heidi’s 62.9k followers.
The singer looked radiant without so much as a spot of make-up on in the photo and wore gorgeous peach-print pyjamas as she looked lovingly at her daughter.
Heidi announced that she was expecting her second child during an interview with HELLO! magazine in March.
She said: ‘We’re both over the moon. Aurelia has been asking for a brother or sister every day.

‘When I was pregnant with Aurelia, it was a case of ignorance is bliss – I just assumed everything would be fine and it was.
‘But because I’ve had two losses since her, it was quite a nerve-wracking time until I had the scans.’
Heidi admitted there was a time she thought she may not be able to have another child, but always remained grateful to have Aurelia.

She said: ‘I would have been heartbroken, but I always thought we were lucky as we were so blessed to have Aurelia.’
Later that month, Heidi shared the touching news that she was expecting a baby girl after posting a heartwarming video of the moment her daughter Aurelia, three, found out a baby sister would be joining the family.
The pregnant singer posted a heart-melting gender reveal on Instagram which saw her wipe away tears as her husband Alex explained to Aurelia, ‘mummy has got a baby in her tummy’.

In an adorable moment, little Aurelia instinctively touched her mother’s tummy as businessman Alex told her: ‘You’re going to be a big sister very soon.’
‘You’re going to be a big sister this summer. Is that exciting?’ asked Alex, to which Aurelia replied: ‘Yeah!’
Surrounded by blue and pink balloons, Heidi and Alex then placed a rainbow cake in front of their daughter and explained that a blue centre meant she was getting a brother, pink a sister.
The singer told Aurelia: ‘See this cake? Inside the cake it’s going to be a colour. And if it’s pink inside, it means the baby is going to be a baby…?’
‘Girl,’ Aurelia correctly guessed.

‘Boy!’, Aurelia, who was wearing a pink polka dot princess dress, exclaimed.
Alex then lifted his daughter up onto a chair and helped her cut into the cake with a big knife.
‘What colour is it?’ asked Heidi, to which Aurelia happily responded: ‘Pink!’
Heidi and Alex’s baby news comes after the couple suffered two devastating miscarriages in 18 months after they started trying for a second child.
Heidi and Alex have been together since early 2014 and tied the knot in Florence, Italy, in 2016.
