Hilaria Baldwin defends her decision to welcome daughter Lucia through a surrogate: ‘People assume that I’m less of a mom’
Alec Baldwin’s wife Hilaria discussed her feelings about surrogacy on Sunday’s episode of her Witches Anonymous podcast.
The proud mom, 38 – who gave birth to six out of seven of her children with Alec, 64 – stated that her 20-month-old daughter Lucia is not ‘any less’ hers just because she was delivered by a surrogate.
‘There’s no difference. And people assume that I’m less of a mom, that she’s less of my daughter… She is just as attached to me as all my other ones,’ she stated of her baby girl, who was born in February 2021.

‘I don’t have a difference between my daughter that was born via surrogacy and my six other children that I carried,’ she emphasized.
The yoga instructor, who chose to use a surrogate to welcome Lucia following two miscarriages in 2019 went on to state that there ‘are many different ways to become a parent.’
She also added that she was ‘shamed’ for choosing ‘the surrogacy route’ and that many made her feel like an ‘outcasted person.’

‘We’re considered to be breeders in many ways – and this is me, who has seven kids – but I understand that the historical connection of women is breeder. And if you cannot breed in the traditional way, or you do not want to breed in the traditional way, people think that they have a right to talk about it,’ she went on.
Hilaria also added that she has an ‘amazing’ relationship with her surrogate, and that they ‘talk almost every single day.’
It comes after the author shared a snap of a gruesome black eye injury suffered by by the baby girl, who fell ‘and hit her face on a metal table leg.’

The reality star – who recently admitted to judging couples with large age differences before meeting her husband Alec – took to Instagram to share the sad snap of their sixth of seven children.
The toddler could be seen with a scratch and purple discoloration around her right eye as Hilaria captioned the image: ‘You’ll see this shiner for a while (and hopefully less of a runny nose…ugh this time of year).’
She explained that she was out with eldest child – nine-year-old daughter Carmen – when the incident happened.
Hilaria said: ‘I was out with my oldest 4 yesterday and got that awful call that makes your heart sink, telling me Marilú had fallen and hit her face on a metal table leg. She’s ok, thank goodness…it was just scary and will be bruised for a while [loudly crying face emoji]’

This came just days after she had confessed to judging couples with large age differences, before she met her longtime husband Alec who is 26 years her senior.
‘I would judge women and men that had big age differences,’ she admitted. ‘I would look at it like, this older man wants some young bimbo with no opinions whatsoever.’
She continued: ‘That younger woman is obviously a gold digger, and she obviously doesn’t even care and is just like whatever, ‘I hope you die, and I’m going to take all your money.’
Since falling in love with the 30 Rock star, says ‘those things’ are ‘regularly’ said about her: ‘I realize, what was this trained into my head?’ the mother-of-seven said of her past preconceptions.’

‘Why was I so judgmental about other people who are literally just finding love, and maybe their love looks different from you and from your love or what my thought love would be but it doesn’t make it not valid,’ Hilaria wondered.

Following the recent birth of their seventh child just last month, the former yoga instructor said she felt she was done having children – but only ‘time’ would tell if that was truly the case.
‘I would have said before [that I’m] definitely done,’ she told the Us Weekly.
