Fans of HBO’s Game Of Thrones prequel series House Of The Dragon have endured brutal murders and incest scenes, but it was a foot fetish scene in Sunday’s latest episode that pushed several fans over the edge.
The latest episode — titled The Green Council — featured a dark scene in which Queen Alicent Hightower (played by Olivia Cooke) exposes her bare feet in order to get favors from Larys Strong (Matthew Needham).
The clearly sexual scene had some fans up in arms, while others were happy to joke about the scene, which the episode’s director Claire Kilner called a ‘really dirty scene’ while speaking with Entertainment Weekly.

The scene in questions takes place following the death of King Viserys (Paddy Considine) after a long, mysterious illness.
His wife Alicent has determined that her son Aegon will assume the throne, and she claims that her husband expressed that wish on his death bed, even though his oldest daughter Princess Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) was the previous candidate for the throne.
Larys plans to share some gossip with Alicent that will help in her plot, but he requires a special favor before he is willing to share it: an unobstructed view of her bare feet.
In the scene, she removes her shoes and stockings and place her feet up on the table in his view.
He proceeds to spill about a ring of spies peppered throughout the upper echelons of the royal court, but he requires some greater in exchange for his offer to kill some of the spies.
Alicent accepts his price and props her feet up on a chair while he appears to masturbate to them in her presence.

In an interview with EW for its West Of Westeros podcast, the episode’s director Clare Kilner confirmed that Larys was ‘looking at her feet and then having a wank, basically.’
She shared that Sara Hess, one of the show’s executive producer and a credited writer on the episode, had come up with the foot fetish plot.
‘Her mind is incredible. I mean, she really wrote us a wonderful episode, I have to say,’ she said, adding, ‘Funnily enough, you get the intimacy coordinators [for] all the nudity, but they don’t think about it for this.’
Kilner continued: ‘It’s so intrusive and invasive. It’s a really dirty scene.’
