I’m A Celebrity 2022: ‘It needs to be chopped down into firewood!’ Sue Cleaver refuses to take Scarlette Douglas’ bed in the RV as she insists the vehicle is ‘not luxurious’

Sue Cleaver said the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! RV should be chopped down and burned as firewood after refusing to take Scarlette Douglas’ bed in the camper during Monday’s episode.

The Coronation Street actress, 59, was offered a bed in the vehicle by Scarlette before the A Place In The Sun presenter was voted out of the camp last night by the viewing public.

But Sue turned down a place in the RV, insisting the recreational vehicle was ‘not luxurious’.

Speaking in the Bush Telegraph, soap star Sue said: ‘The RV is not luxurious, the RV needs to be chopped down into firewood.’

She added: ‘I slept all night, I didn’t even get up for a wee, so I’m good.’

The screen star returned to camp and serenaded her campmates with a rendition of the song Another Day In Paradise by Phil Collins.

Elsewhere, politician Matt Hancock gave his fellow cast members a reason to moan after he burned the rice.

Scarlette said to the former Health Secretary: ‘I thought you were keeping an eye on that, no worries.’

Comedian Seann Walsh said in the Bush Telegraph: ‘Matt did a bit of an oopsie with the cooking and forgot that the rice was being cooked.’

Hollyoaks actor Owen Warner asked: ‘Is that inedible?’

Seann added in the Bush Telegraph of the first star to depart, Loose Women anchor and ITV newsreader Charlene White: ‘I don’t remember there being so many problems with the cooking when Charlene was here. I think this restaurant’s gone downhill. Sorry Matt.’

Mishap: Matt Hancock gave his campmates a reason to be grumpy during Monday’s episode after he burned an entire pan of rice while sitting in front of it as he forgot it was cooking

MP for West Suffolk Matt said in the Bush Telegraph: ‘We rescued the situation, we got half a pan of rice. Basically we lost one packet of rice. All is well.’

Later, the campmates learned Scarlette would be going home. 

Comedian Babatúndé Aleshe, who was named in the bottom two of the public vote with her, said in the Bush Telegraph: ‘I’m upset, I’m devastated to see Scarlette go. I did not see that coming at all.’

Scarlette said to camp: ‘I’m going to miss you all so much.’

Radio DJ Chris Moyles said in the Bush Telegraph: ‘It’s just a big shock. She’s got such an infectious smile. She’s only the second person to leave but that’ll leave a big hole in our camp.’
