Ireland Baldwin explains why she underwent a mini facelift at age 26

Ireland Baldwin, 26, explains that she underwent a ‘mini facelift’ to get rid of a ‘stubborn pocket of fat under’ her chin after years of insecurity

Ireland Baldwin has opened up about why she underwent a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure, after receiving backlash for altering her face at such a young age.

In a new Instagram video posted on Tuesday afternoon, the 26-year-old model explained that she underwent an ‘hour-long, in-office procedure’ last week called FaceTite that doesn’t require anesthesia.

‘You don’t go under the knife. Nothing like that. The reason I had it done is was because I had this very stubborn pocket of fat and extra skin my face,’ she told her more than 691,000 followers.

Before her haters could tell her to just ‘diet and work out,’ she explained that even when she had ‘an array of eating disorders’ and was ‘scary skinny’ she still had ‘this chin.’

‘As I’ve gained weight and as I’ve aged it hasn’t gone away at all. It’s only become worse and worse,’ she explained. ‘I am terrified of anesthesia and being put under and plastic surgery.’

When looking at her options on how to fix her biggest insecurity, she said she looked for the ‘most age appropriate and minimally invasive option.’

The bombshell also addressed how hypocritical it is that people get mad at celebrities for being honest when they get work done.

‘Y’all are such a riot. Let’s have a little talk. So, you have to pick one. Either you’re going to get mad at people, who aren’t open and transparent about the work they’ve had done to themselves. Or, you’re going to get mad at people for getting work done to themselves. You don’t have both.

She continued: ‘I choose to be as open and transparent about these kind of things because I don’t want to be misleading…I never use filters on here. I’ve had no other modifications done to my body or face.’

Minimally invasive: ‘You don’t go under the knife. Nothing like that. The reason I had it done is was because I had this very stubborn pocket of fat and extra skin my face,’ she told her more than 691,000 followers

‘I’ve had no lip filler in my life. I’ve had no fillers in my face. Not that there is anything wrong with that,’ Baldwin continued.

Three days ago, Baldwin shocked the world as she revealed that she has undergone a ‘mini facelift’ at such a young age

The model underwent the ‘minimally-invasive’ treatment alongside her cousin Alaia, 27, which is designed to permanently destroy fat cells and tighten the skin of the lower face and neck.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, the daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger snapped selfies while wrapped up in compression bandages following her trip to the doctor.

WHAT IS FACETITE?

Facetite can provide mini facelift-like results without the associated scars, downtime, and cost.

It is performed under local anesthesia or light sedation in the office procedure room with only two to five days of downtime.

Results will be seen immediately and continue to improve up to a 6 to 12-month period.

FaceTite’s utilizes Radio-Frequency Assisted Lipolysis (RFAL) that is contained in a thin wand that is placed underneath the skin.

This allows Dr. Kim to safely deliver energy that permanently destroys fat cells and simultaneously tightens the skin of the lower face and neck.

It comes after Ireland shared a candid post about being in the ‘most freeing mental headspace’ since she packed up and left Los Angeles for the Oregon coast, where she now lives with her musician boyfriend RAC.

Inspired by an Instagram message Camila Cabello wrote last week, Ireland penned a lengthy post detailing everything from her own issues with body image, to toxic online behavior and mental health.

She said: ‘To being that I am a bad b**** and that I’m done taking s*** from people on the Internet now, I know of course the heat will never cease to exist. I know the more I put myself out there the more people find reasons to pick me apart. But that’s OK!!’

She added: ‘Of course, I am nowhere near as famous as Camilla, but I relate to every word of her post. I have been called some version of fat, ugly, worthless and irrelevant by grown adults on the Internet since I was a kid.’

Ireland has past been candid about her battle with eating disorders, and said it was ‘sad and pathetic’ that people would rip others apart online, especially ‘women doing this to other women.’

‘I have spent way too many years starving myself, binging, purging, measuring, stepping on scales, spitting food into my purse and all around ruining my body because some troll told me I’ll never be as thin and beautiful as my mother.’

Cool and calm: She slipped on a pair of sunnies to match her cousin, and tried to laugh off the aggressive bandages from their matching procedures

Ireland said that while she has her ‘bad days,’ she ‘romantically’ loves food and is proud of her physique the way it is.

‘Sure, I have my insecurities,’ she continued. ‘I know a lot of you like to assume I am filled with lip filler, breast implants and botox, but even though there’s absolutely nothing wrong with any of those things, I am not, but HELL! All ya had to do was ask!’

She noted she was going to try an ‘in-office procedure’ to see if it helped with her insecurity surrounding her chin, and she was ‘shameless’ about the process.

‘And the most glorious part, is I am not posting revealing pictures, getting treatments, and doing jack s*** for any of you. It’s all for me,’ she said.
