Is BTS Releasing a New Album in 2021?

RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are always working on music, with Jungkook’s mixtape closer than ever. Still, some ARMYs are wondering what the next BTS album will be like and when it’s premiering.

Is BTS releasing new music in 2021? Here’s what we know about this K-pop group and their future projects.

BTS released Be (Essential Edition) during 2021

Although BTS fans may be socially distanced from this boy band, there are still a few performances that ARMYs can watch. That includes their MTV Unplugged, with a surprise cover of “Fix You” by Coldplay.

The group also released another version of their 2020 album, Be (Deluxe Edition.) The Be (Essential Edition) was, technically, the first BTS album of 2021, complete with songs like “Life Goes On” and “Fly to My Room,” as well as added goodies for fans.

“The essential edition comes after their BE (Deluxe Edition) released last November and encapsulates BTS’ deepest appreciation towards their fans who have stood by every milestone – No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Grammy nomination to name a few,” a Big Hit Entertainment press statement said.

RM said BTS will be back with a ‘new song’ in 2021

In true BTS fashion, this group hasn’t revealed details regarding future projects. However, RM did tease a “good song” again for this year, saying,“we will also come back with a good song again this year so we will appreciate it if you look forward to it.”

It’s unclear if BTS will appear on their now-postponed Map of the Soul world tour during 2021, or at least to the same extent as years prior. However, some fans look forward to the Grammy Awards, where the K-pop group is nominated for the first time in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category.

Some fans expect a ‘Be’ series, similar to the ‘Love Yourself’ and ‘Map of the Soul’ series’

Although there’s no confirmation from BTS, some ARMYs think they’ve sleuthed out the meaning of their new album. According to Distractify, the BTS members mentioned “fear” in several performances, similar to how they included “Ego” and “Shadow” on the chalkboard for RM’s music video, “Intro: Persona.”

Could this new album be titled Fearless or Be: Fearless? Fans are still waiting for an official announcement, although it’s not officially off of the table. In the meantime, the BTS members have been appearing in RUN BTS skits and live streams on the social media platform, Weverse.

The “Life Goes On” music video by BTS is now available for streaming on YouTube. The K-pop group’s deluxe album, titled Be, is available on Spotify, Apple Music, and most major streaming platforms.
