‘We are all back together!’ Jake Quickenden returns home to girlfriend Sophie Church following mini-break with son Leo… after revealing the couple secretly split during lockdown
Jake Quickenden has returned to the home he shares with partner Sophie Church following a short break, after revealing the couple secretly split before the birth of their first child.
The former X Factor contestant, 32, recently made the most of England’s relaxed lockdown policies by taking three-month old son Leo to visit his grandmother, but has since reunited with Sophie, 27, after giving her an opportunity to unwind.
Taking to Instagram on Saturday, Jake explained that he decided to give his partner – who is also a parent to son Freddie from a former relationship – some much needed rest by travelling to his mother’s home for a short break.

He wrote: ‘And we are all back together!!! Had a lovely 3 days at mums with Leo… we bonded loads, we were literally inseparable and I loved it, but most importantly it gave Soph a few days rest.’
Jake also admitted to being surprised by the reaction to him being a hands-on dad following the birth of his son in February.
‘I find it mad people thought it was strange me doing my bit, as a man we shouldn’t get applauded for doing what we should do, having a baby is 50/50 and I was just doing what was needed!

‘If the mum took the baby away for a few days no one would bat an eye lid but because I did it it was a big deal and something must be wrong!!
‘Not the case I was just giving soph a break and having some dad and son time with Leo!! Have a lovely weekend everyone, as always thanks for the amazing support and following our little journey!!’
Jake previously revealed that he secretly moved out of the home he shares with Sophie and her son Freddie, just before finding out she was pregnant with their first child together and after Sophie suffered a miscarriage in 2020.

The former X Factor star admitted that he and the beautician ‘needed some time apart’ due to arguing after they endured the miscarriage, and so he packed up and moved in with his mother.
He told The Sun: ‘Sophie and I are obviously closer than ever but I’d actually moved out just before finding out she was pregnant.
‘Lockdown was really hard. We had been arguing a bit and it got a bit too much so I went home to stay with my mum.
‘We were never going to break up but we did need some time apart. I think the miscarriage puts a lot of pressure on you without you even really knowing it.’
