‘I’m so happy I let it go grey’: Jane Fonda, 83, says she’s embracing her natural hair colour because she wasted ‘so much money’ and put ‘so many chemicals’ on it
Jane Fonda has gushed she is ‘so happy’ to have embraced her natural grey hair as she’d had ‘enough’ of dyeing it blonde.
The Hollywood icon, 83, made an appearance on the Ellen show on Wednesday, where she discussed her looks, as well as her delight at being able to get the Covid-19 vaccine, which she encouraged others to also get.
As Ellen expressed how much she liked Jane’s hairstyle, she said: ‘I do too, I tell you I’m so happy I let it go grey.

‘Enough already, so much time wasted, so much money spent, so many chemicals. I’m through with that.’
Going on to discuss getting both doses of the coronavirus vaccine, Jane went on: ‘I’m feeling okay, I worked out yesterday, I’m lucky, I didn’t have any reaction to it.
‘It certainly doesn’t hurt, I encourage everybody to get it if they can get it, as soon as possible. But I still wear masks, and I’m still doing social distancing.
‘Things don’t go back to normal just because you have the vaccine, you can still spread it or pick it up.’

‘In all the years there’s been a Cecil B. deMille award, there’s only been 17 women who have won it, we need to change that.
‘I’m very glad they’re giving it to me, and I hope they give it to a lot more women to make it more even.’
Fonda made her professional debut in 1960 on Broadway and on screen, and she went on to become one of the biggest movie stars of the 1960s and 1970s with films like 1968’s Barbarella and 1971’s Klute.
She is also one of the most decorated actresses in Golden Globes history as she has earned 15 nominations throughout her career and has won seven including in 1962 for Tall Story, 1972 for Klute, 1978 for Julia, and 1979 for Coming Home.
The actress also won the now retired Henrietta Award for World Film Favorite three times in 1973, 1979, and 1980.

Of attending the ceremony, Jane went on: ‘I vowed a couple of years ago to never buy any new clothes again.
‘You know, we spend too much money, we buy too many things and then get rid of them. We try to develop our identity by shopping, we’ve got to stop that, stop all this consumerism.
‘So, I have to go through my closet and find something that still fits me, and that I’ve worn before. I’ve found something, so I’m all set.’
