The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star was ‘cleaned up’ and tended to by a team of highly paid professionals in a suite at the JW Marriott hotel before attending the premiere of his new movie ‘Jeanne du Barry’.
AceShowbiz –Johnny Depp received a special pampering session before making his recent glorious appearance at the 76th annual Cannes Film Festival. The notoriously grubby actor was reportedly given a hefty makeover before he attended the premiere of his new movie “Jeanne du Barry“.
“He was cleaned up,” a festival insider told Page Six, several days after the French movie had its world premiere in Cannes, France. He reportedly was tended by a team of highly paid professionals in a suite at the JW Marriott hotel on La Croisette, where rooms start at $1,000 a night.
Another source spilled that the 59-year-old Hollywood star was especially dressed for the week by his longtime stylist Samantha McMillen. He was also dressed by Dior for the movie’s press conference as well as a dinner thrown by the brand and Moet et Chandon champagne. Dior also paid for his grooming.
For the premiere of the period drama at the the Palais des Festivals et des Congres, Depp wore a bespoke tuxedo by Dior designer Kim Jones. His hair was styled in a ponytail as he wore sunglasses and a pair of earrings.
Despite his dashing look at Cannes, fans were turned off by his “rotten” teeth. In photos taken at the Tuesday, May 16 event, the Golden Globe winner’s teeth looked discolored and riddled with brown spots.
After seeing the pictures, some Twitter users couldn’t help but poke fun at the actor. One person wrote, “Johnny Depp’s teeth are literally ROTTING.” Another tweeted, “The score is currently as yellow as his teeth. Congratulations!”
A disgusted user reacted, “why do i have to see closeup pics of johnny depp’s teeth against my will.” Someone else mocked the actor, “johnny depp just looks like someone grabbed his teeth and painted them black.”
Despite the criticism over his yellowed teeth, Depp received a seven-minute standing ovation after the premiere of the movie at Cannes. In a clip shared by Variety, he could be seen wiping tears from his eyes before raising his hands in a gesture of thanks and hugging his director and co-star Maiwenn.
