Julia Fox showcases damage to her pricey Hermes Birkin bag as she reveals story of how she survived attack by someone with machete
Julia Fox was willing to risk life and limb for her Birkin bag.
On Wednesday, the Uncut Gems star took to TikTok to show off her beloved but battered gray Hermès bag that sustained some visible damage during an attack by someone with a machete.
‘I love her, but she’s been through a lot,’ Fox said of her pricey luxury bag, before highlighting some closeup looks at the various of cuts, slashes and scratches it endured during that attack.

It’s a little hard to see there, but she was actually attacked by a machete,’ the actress, who appeared makeup free, revealed while showing a slice near the corner of the Birkin bag, adding, ‘I’m not kidding — that actually happened to this bag — and me.’
While flipping the bag around to show more damage, she continued, ‘You can see a little bit from where the machete slipped and hit the side of the bag, too.’
The Hermès Birkin bag is the single most highly coveted luxury handbag on the planet. With the price ranging from $8,500 to over $300,000 at a boutique, it’s also the most expensive bag in fashion history, according to Madison Avenue Couture.

While Fox didn’t share any of the details on the attack, the Italian-American actress and model did confess, ‘I don’t know how I f***ing managed to like hold on to this.’
She then continued to flip the bag around to highlight the other damage it endured during the machete attack.
‘You know I was holding on to this Birkin for my life,’ she admitted at the end of the video.

Fox’s gold-trimmed leather Birkin has a gold horseshoe stamped on the left side of the Hermès logo, which signifies its custom made and especially valuable to collectors, according to Page Six.
The actress also has a rare black ostrich styled Birkin bag with rose gold hardware that she got as a birthday gift from Kanye West when they were dating earlier this year.
That particular style is said to be worth about $45,000, while her damaged classic design bag is said to be worth as much.
