Justin Timberlake seems unimpressed by Alison Hammond’s ‘painful’ chat as she throws him a virtual 40th birthday party on This Morning
She has interviewed a host of A-list celebrities.
And Alison Hammond sat down for a virtual catch-up with Justin Timberlake on Friday as they celebrated his 40th birthday, which some viewers branded ‘painful’ to watch.
The This Morning presenter, 45, threw a surprise Zoom party for him at her home in Birmingham, but the global superstar seemed unimpressed as she surprised him with a life-size cardboard cut-out of herself.

While promoting his new Apple TV+ film, Palmer, Alison revealed her party set-up, complete with party rings, cheese and pineapple and a foiled fringe curtain, before unveiling her gift:
She said: ‘I was thinking what am I gonna buy Justin for his birthday? And then I was thinking, hold on a minute, we should have a party!
‘So all morning I’ve been creating this party. I’ve got champagne, I’ve got party hats, I’ve got blowers.
‘I’ve got some English tapas, which is wonderful. This is pineapple and cheese, and I’ve got a present for you…

‘The only problem is I couldn’t afford to post it to you, but shall I show it to you?… It’s just a cut out of me!’ Alison said as she revealed the amusing cut-out behind her.
Justin sarcastically responded.’Oh wonderful! I can’t wait to have that in my arms!’
‘Would you pay for the postage?’ Alison cheekily quipped to which Justin answered: ‘Yeah, I got it, no worries.’
Fans reacted to the awkward interaction on Twitter as one user penned: ‘He really enjoyed that interview. You could tell by his face #ThisMorning’.
Another This Morning viewer said: ‘This is painful to watch,’ while a third added: ‘Justin doesn’t look impressed #ThisMorning.’

Speaking about turning 40, the singing star added: ‘I’m excited! Hopefully, I’m lucky enough to have this year, when I’m turning 40, to be a good year.’
The duo continued the online party with a game. Alison played a selection of songs on the kazoo as Justin attempted to guess them correctly.
The presenter confirmed if he could guess all three songs correctly, he would be awarded another present, a birthday cake with his face on the front that said: ‘Even though you’re forty, you’re still bringing Sexy Back!’
Justin responded: ‘I’m so glad you could enjoy all of this on my birthday!’
Alison’s interview comes after she and her co-host Dermot O’Leary reportedly received higher ratings on This Morning than their predecessors Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.

The presenter and the X-Factor host, 47, have proven to be a hit on the show as they were said to have drawn in 1.41 million viewers during their debut show earlier this month.
According to reports from The Sun, the pair received 200,000 more viewers tuning into their show than Ruth and Eamonn’s final appearance in December.
The publication claimed that while Alison and Dermot drew in more viewers, Ruth and Eamonn had a bigger audience share of 23 per cent compared to their successor’s 21 per cent.
