Kanye West scores 10th number one album on Billboard 200 chart with Donda
Kanye West has joined an elite list of musical artists with the success of his latest studio album, Donda.
With the release of his tenth studio album, the legendary rapper, 44, scored his tenth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart.
West is now one of only seven musical artists with at least 10 top charting albums in the 65-year history of the Billboard 200 chart.

The Beatles lead the list with a staggering 19 No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 during their historic career that began with Meet The Beatles in February, 15, 1964.
Jay-Z has the second spot on the list with 14, followed by Bruce Springsteen and Barbara Streisand, who both have scored 11. Elvis Presley and Eminem round out the list with 10 apiece.
Madonna, Garth Brooks, The Rolling Stones, Drake, Kenny Chesney and Taylor Swift all have nine, which means they’re all one No. 1 album away from joining the illustrious list.

Donda’s early success since dropping on August 29 also resulted in West joining Eminem for the most consecutive No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 with 10 apiece.
The album scored 309,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending on Thursday, September 2, according to MRC Data. That passed the year’s previous best week set by Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour, which kicked off with 295,000 units on the chart dated June 5.
In its first full day of release, Donda was streamed more than 60 million times in the US.
Plus, tracks from the album claimed 19 of the top 20 spots on Apple Music’s Daily Top 100 Global songs chart.
Hurricane was released as the album’s lead single, out of the 27 listed tracks.

To put The Beatles’ success in perspective: They amounted their first 14 No. 1 albums in just over six years and three months.
That run went from Meet The Beatles in February 1964 to June 1970, when Let It Be reached the top of the chart.
They would score their other top chatting albums with compilation efforts, mainly consisting of their array of classic hit songs.
Although recorded before Abby Road (1969), Let It Be would be the Fab Four’s last album before officially breaking up in 1970.
