Kate Middleton charmed by excited puppy as she tells him ‘you match my coat!’

Kate Middleton and Prince William beamed as they cuddled an adorable puppy during a royal visit today.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Clitheroe Community Hospital in Lancashire on Thursday 20 January to learn about the challenges rural health providers faced during the pandemic.

They also went to learn about how NHS Charities Together, for which they are patrons, is supporting the mental health of those working on the frontline.

During the visit, Kate and William met and cuddled therapy puppy Alfie, an apricot cockapoo, funded through hospital charity ELHT&me using a grant from NHS Charities Together.

The puppy will be used to support the wellbeing of staff and patients. The adorable pup joins six year old cockapoo Jasper, who is already a therapy dog at the Trust.

In a video, the mum-of-three gushes over the dog as she sweetly rubs him and jokes: “you match my coat!”

Alfie soon got a cuddle from William, with the excited puppy giving the royal an affectionate lick on the cheek.

Kate, who recently celebrated her 40th birthday, looked stunning in a neutral-toned outfit as she donned a brown turtleneck top alongside an ankle-length camel coat.

Styling her mane down into loose waves, the royal kept the make up to a minimum, simply wearing some eyeshadow and mascara for the outing.

Meanwhile, William, 39, looked dapper in a navy blazer with a light blue shirt and red jumper alongside a pair of dark trousers.

During their visit, Kate and Prince William met with GPs, nurses and others who work across the community.

NHS Charities Together has allocated over £300,000 of funding across East Lancashire Hospitals Trust, which has helped create wellbeing services for over 9,000 staff members – this includes breakout areas, wellness packages and therapy.

Just one day prior, Kate and William enjoyed an official royal visit to the Foundling Museum.

The couple met with representatives of the sector and spoke with those who have experience in the care system to explore the challenges those leaving care can face and how the issues are being tackled.

The Duchess looked elegant in head to toe navy. She wore a pair of flared trousers teamed with a knee length jacket and roll neck jumper.

She kept her signature tresses down in a slight wave as she smiled for photographers outside the venue.

Meanwhile, William mirrored her look in a navy suit jacket and matching jumper.

The couple looked deep in conversation as they arrived at the royal visit, which comes hours after an explosive documentary on Prince Andrew aired on Tuesday 18 January.

ITV documentary Ghislaine, Prince Andrew and the Paedophile left viewers shocked as Ranvir Singh delved into the the accusations made against Maxwell, Epstein and the Duke of York.

Viewers were shocked as the documentary made a number of revelations including the discovery household manual in Epstein's mansion and how Prince Andrew would "shout and scream" if his teddy bear collection was rearranged.

The Royals have not made a public comment regarding the documentary or Prince Andrew's situation as when asked: “Do you support Prince Andrew?”, Prince William simply walked past.
