Kelly Ripa agrees that ‘I need to dye my hair’… after Cher says going grey is ‘fine for other girls’ but ‘I’m just not doing it!’
Kelly Ripa has agreed with Cher that she would prefer to keeping dyeing her hair rather than letting it publicly go grey.
Cher, 75, made a splash by telling People magazine that grey hair ‘is fine for other girls’ but ‘I’m just not doing it!’
And now the hostess of Live! With Kelly And Ryan has thrown in her lot with the pop diva, telling her co-host: ‘I think that I need to dye my hair.’

Kelly, who rose to fame as a soap star, said: ‘I think certain people look great with their grey hair. I think it is – depends on the person. I really do.’
The All My Children alum dished: ‘Cher was saying that grey hair is not for her. She is not caving in. She doesn’t care about the trend.”
She reflected: ‘You know, people are embracing their hair all over the place. Everybody’s embracing their grey hair.’
Kelly, who ran a ‘roots watch’ of herself on Instagram in 2020, said: ‘During the early days of the pandemic I had embraced my grey hair privately, but publicly I was using brown eye-shadow to paint my roots some shade that wasn’t Santa Claus white.’

She said that ‘in real life, you know, I go: “Oh, I look great with grey hair! You can barely tell!”‘ while shaking her head and pulling a face to show her true feelings.
Over the years she has been candid about the measures she has taken to retain her youthful looks, including falling back on Botox.
‘I try to drink water, but I prefer wine, and when all else fails, I get Botox injected right here, right into my forehead as much as possible!’ she told In Touch in 2012.

Kelly quipped that the way her children react to her was what gave her the sign that she needed to have her Botox replenished.
‘It’s when my kids start asking me if I’m mad at them, and I say, “Why do you think I’m mad at you?”‘ said the mother of three. ‘They say it’s because I’m frowning. I go, “Oh no! I am? I’ll be right back!”‘
She has been married to her smoldering fellow soap star Mark Consuelos since 1996 and they share Michael, 24, Lola, 20 and Joaquin, 18.
