Kerry Katona reveals she’s gone from shoplifting food to being a millionaire thanks to OnlyFans but insists ‘money doesn’t make you happy’

Kerry Katona has revealed she was once so poor she was forced to shoplift for food and rely on charity before becoming a millionaire –  but insisted ‘money doesn’t make you happy’.

The TV personality, 42, opened up about her past and admitted she had previously lost her fortune only to earn it back again thanks to racy website OnlyFans.

She told The Matt Haycox podcast: ‘I’ve been on every side of the coin you can think of, I went from having nothing to getting my clothes off a car boot sale with my nan’.

‘Going on the rob with my mum, I remember being nine years of age and it was Christmas.

‘We just got moved from a refuge into a new house and it was Christmas morning and we had no decorations and the people from the refuge knocked on Christmas morning with a bin bag of second hand stuff.’

She continued: ‘You know, corned beef, bread. I was eternally grateful’.

The former Atomic Kitten star then revealed she became a ‘millionaire over night’ before losing her wealth following her 2006 divorce from Brian McFadden.

She said: ‘Then I got the Iceland deal… then I had my own reality show, became a millionaire again’ only to lose it all over again.

‘I lost the lot, got a little bit back, went back into bankruptcy, become a millionaire again. I don’t know anybody who has done that’.

The mother-of-five went on: ‘I’m a grafted and I work and continue to work my a**e off because of those kids.’

‘The one thing I’ve learnt is, money doesn’t make you happy, it just gives you options.’

Earlier this month, Kerry revealed how much she earns from OnlyFans after making a success of herself on the platform.

And Kerry insists she has made more than a £1million by sharing revealing pictures and videos of herself on OnlyFans.

She told The Sun: ‘Yeah, I’ve made more than that. I can’t put a figure on it. I’m a billionaire!!’.

‘I will give myself credit. I am a grafter, I came from a foster home, went to eight schools, got clothes off car boot sales, was a lap-dancer, got in a girl band, became face of Iceland, became a millionaire, went bankrupt, lost it all, became a millionaire again and went bankrupt again, then became a millionaire again. Who does it?’

Kerry has no plans to stop stripping down to her underwear for OnlyFans, insisting she’ll keep creating content as long as there is an audience.

She said: ‘I will do OF as long as I keep making money. As long as people want it.

‘You can get all sorts on there; it’s not just young pretty birds. I am 43 in September and it’s dead easy. I could sit right here, get a t*t out and make some money, or even take a pic of my feet. Why not?’

In addition to her OnlyFans page, Kerry has launched fashion brands Marnie and M Fit.

Success: Her income from her businesses have enabled her to make some big purchases, including a lime green £180,000 Lamborghini

Her income from her businesses have enabled her to make some big purchases, including a lime green £180,000 Lamborghini.

She also lives in a £3m mansion in the upmarket Cheshire suburb of Prestbury alongside Premiership footballers, with the property featuring a swimming pool and a home cinema.

The former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! campmate has also been able to give her children a private education.

However, while she admits money has not been able to buy her happiness, she is grateful for the opportunities it has given her.

Kerry insists she has no qualms doing OnlyFans as she began her career in entertainment as a glamour model.

She claims she’s filling a gap in the market which was once occupied by lads’ magazines Nuts, Zoo and FHM, which don’t exist anymore.
