Kim Kardashian has slammed Kanye West for posting an ‘appalling’ meme on Instagram mocking her fresh break-up with comedian Pete Davidson, and is demanding he take it down, a source told DailyMail.com.
A source close to the star told DailyMail.com: ‘Kim won’t stand for this. She is demanding that Kanye take the post down, but he won’t.
‘She has been vigorously defending Pete. She’ll never get back together with Kanye over the way he’s treated the people she loves and respects.
‘She has tried incredibly hard to have a good co-parenting situation for the children.
‘She won’t stand for this type of behavior from him.’
The reality TV star, 41, split with Pete, 28, last week after first being linked in October when Kim made her hosting debut on Saturday Night Live.
After less than a year together the pair decided to just be friends, because of the long distance and clashing schedules – with Kim based in the US while Pete is filming in Australia.
But Kim’s estranged husband Kanye West, 45, took a shot at the couples break up, posting a picture on Instagram of a fake New York Times newspaper with the words ‘Skete Davidson dead at age 28.’

Sources have told DailyMail.com that Kim is demanding that Kanye removes the post, but he is refusing. It is not the first time that the pair have come to blows online about her relationship with Davidson
News of their split comes a day after a source told People that the ‘long distance hasn’t been easy for Kim’ as Pete continued shooting Wizards! in Australia with Kim residing in the US
A message at the bottom added: ‘Kid Cudi meant to play funeral but fearful of bottle throwers.’
The mother-of-four is demanding that he take the post down from the social media site, and is openly defending the funnyman.
Kim and Kanye – who have four children together, including North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3 – have been co-parenting since she filed for divorce back in January 2021.
But the post is not the first time that Kanye has hit out at the mother of his children, being given a ban on Instagram for 24 hours in March after violating their policies on hate speech, bullying and harassment.
The rapper began regularly posting about their children and relationship, after his estranged wife was officially linked with Pete.
Sources close to the reality star have also denied reports that she split with the comedian over his ‘immaturity’.
The source added: ‘Kim and Kanye’s divorce is still moving ahead. She thinks that people should not be ok with this post – and Instagram should not allow this type of harassment.
‘Kim has been very sad about the breakup with Pete – it’s not where she thought it would be and that’s been hard for her.
‘The distance and schedules weighed into their decision but they do love and respect each other.
‘She will always care for him and have his back.’
Neither Pete nor Kim has publicly acknowledged the break up of their nine-month whirlwind romance.
Kanye has been hit with a backlash from fans over the post, though some were amused by the Kid Cudi reference.
Kanye was close friends with Cudi since the mid 2010s and while they’ve had a rocky friendship, they were said to have fallen out again this year due to his friendship with Pete.
However most begged him to take the post down, telling him that he should ‘rise above’ the behavior.
They wrote in the comments: ‘Take this down god. you’re free to rise above. love you.’
‘So EVERYONE @kimkardashian dates is gonna be treated like this ?’
‘This is not even funny…’
‘Watch the energy you put into the universe man! Not cool man you better than this!

West has been repeatedly critical of Davidson after he went public with his relationship with Kim, continually lashing out at the couple online
‘You’re embarrassing! Stop this nonsense and focus on your craft and kids! This boy is 28!
‘If you want to troll anyone, troll yourself for marrying that plastic and meddling in that coven of a family. As a fan I hate this for you. Grow up!’
‘@instagram this is really not ok to tolerate.’ and ‘LMAO u gotta chill brozay.’
It’s not the first time Kanye has threatened Pete online as he’s regularly posted and then deleted attacks waged at his ex-wife’s former boyfriend.
He also shared a screengrab of Davidson’s defunct Instagram account and took credit for driving him away from the social media platform.
‘Ran Skete off the gram,’ he wrote. ‘Tell your mother I changed your name for life.’
West previously acknowledged his social media posts came off as harassing Kardashian, after he shared text messages with her saying that his previous torrent of posts were putting Davidson in danger.
‘I know sharing screen shots was jarring and came off as harassing Kim,’ West wrote on Instagram. ‘I take accountability.’
In the texts, Kardashian told West he was ‘creating a dangerous and scary environment and someone will hurt Pete and this will be all your fault,’ later adding, ‘There are dangerous people out there and this is scary and it doesn’t have to be.’
West replied to Kardashian via text, ‘I will always do everything to protect you and our family forever. And I listened to you and told everyone to make sure nothing physical happens to Skete.’
Pete has spent over a month filming Wizards! in Australia, where Kim visited him in July for a romantic getaway in the Daintree Rainforest.
However their luxury stay at a lavish five-star ‘eco lodge’ in the jungle was evidently not enough to salvage the couple’s relationship.
Sources close to the reality star have also denied reports that she split with the comedian over his ‘immaturity’ – blaming distance for the break up
Pete became serious enough about Kim to acquire multiple pieces of body art in her honor, having her name branded onto his chest and getting a tattoo that reads: ‘My girl is a lawyer’
But Pete was seen acting relaxed, playing basketball with the crew on his film Wizards! In their Australian studio the day of the split.
A production insider noted that Pete ‘looked relaxed, like he didn’t have a care in the world. He was just chilling and shooting hoops.’
The source remarked: ‘He is a bona fide movie star. He has the world at his feet and no doubt every starlet in Hollywood will be calling him now.’
An insider gushed that the Saturday Night Live alum, who will wrap in about a week, is ‘so laid back and cool, everyone likes working with him.’
Pete has been in Australia for weeks now working on the star-studded movie, whose cast includes Orlando Bloom and Naomi Scott.
Recently the production shifted to a studio in Far North Queensland after a stretch of time filming in the lush Daintree Rainforest.
‘He wanted to have fun with the crew in the studio so he bought a basketball hoop and stereo and we all hung out shooting hoops and listening to music,’ the on-set insider explained to DailyMail.com.
‘So often these Hollywood stars are standoffish and wankers when they come to Australia to film, but Pete’s been fantastic. He’s one of the team.’
The source showered praise on Pete, saying: ‘He’s become an honorary Aussie. We don’t want production to wrap on the film. He’s welcome to stay in Australia.’
