Kirstie Allsopp admits she doesn't like 'mean' reputation

Kirstie Allsopp, 50, has faced the outrage of social media users, who hit out at her claims that young people could just “move” up North if they want to buy a house. The Location, Location, Location presenter was accused of speaking about subjects she does not understand and having a sheltered upbringing.
It comes after Kirstie told The Sunday Times she bought her first property with family help at the age of 21.
She also admitted feeling “enraged” when people said they could not afford property.
Kirstie said: “When I bought my first property, going abroad, the EasyJet, coffee, gym, Netflix lifestyle didn’t exist,” she said.
“I used to walk to work with a sandwich. And on payday I’d go for a pizza, and to a movie, and buy a lipstick.
“Interest rates were 15 percent, I was earning £11,500 a year.”
Furious Twitter users were quick to take to the social media platform to denounce the broadcaster.
They also made mention of Kirstie’s father, Charles Allsopp, 6th Baron Hindlip, who was also a former chairman of Christie’s.
Peter Smith said: “I wish the working class Teesside kids I taught for 30 odd years had the same confidence to talk about subjects they understand as Kirstie Allsopp has to talk about subjects she doesn’t.”
Drooan penned: “Kids today want to eat AND buy a house?!
“Here’s daughter of a literal f****** BARON Kirstie Allsopp to explain why that’s bad.”
Vittoria added: “Kirstie Allsopp, daughter of Charles Henry Allsopp, 6th Baron Hindlip, privately educated at Bedales has is perplexed as to why young people don’t buy a house at 21, as she did.
“Silver spoon is firmly up her a**e, not in her mouth.”

Anna Mikhailova said: “Kirstie Allsopp, daughter of an Eton-educated Baron, tells young people struggling to buy a home to just look in cheaper areas and give up the gym and Netflix.
“She says she gets ‘enraged’ when young people can’t buy their first home, something she did – with family help – aged 21.”
