Kristen Stewart seemed in great spirits at the premiere for her Princess Diana biopic Spencer at Venice Film Festival on Friday.
The actress, 31, was clad in Chanel FW21 Couture for the red carpet event and turned heads in a mint green satin tunic that she layered over lace trimmed trousers.
Highlighting her slender midriff, the garment cinched in at the wait with black bow detailing, while she accessorised the piece with a choker necklace and teamed the look with white Louboutin heels.

The actress completed the look by styling her honey blonde locks in loose waves that framed her pretty features.
Kristen previously insisted she would ‘never smile’ for photographs after being labelled as ‘moody’ by fans in her Twilight fame days.
Back in 2014, she told Elle magazine that she finds it difficult to please people and insists her traditional scowl has to stay with her because she doesn’t want to look like a ‘sell-out’ posing for the paps.
She explained: ‘Now I feel like if I smiled for a paparazzi photo – not that I ever would – that’s exactly what people would be desecrating me for. They’d be like, “Now you’re going to give it up, now you’re a sell-out” like, okay. What do you want? What would you like?’
Yet the actress shed her sombre persona as she danced around on the red carpet and flashed a broad smile for photographers.

Kristen’s smile was no doubt to do with the buzz surrounding her role as Princess Diana, which will finally be played to audiences for the first time this week after months of hype.
The first trailer was released last week, with Kristen’s take on the late Royal’s accent heard for the first time.
Set in 1991 and set for release on November 5, the short clip saw the Twilight star roaming the grounds of Sandringham Estate at Christmas time as her marriage to Prince Charles breaks down in the wake of divorce and infidelity rumours.

The film’s logline reads: ‘The marriage of Princess Diana and Prince Charles has long since grown cold. Though rumours of affairs and a divorce abound, peace is ordained for the Christmas festivities at the Queen’s Sandringham Estate.
‘There’s eating and drinking, shooting and hunting. Diana knows the game. But this year, things will be profoundly different. Spencer is an imagining of what might have happened during those few fateful days.’
The script, written by English screenwriter Steven Knight, who has also written Peaky Blinders, follows the moments when Diana realises she needs to ‘veer from a path that puts her in-line to one day be Queen’.

Director Pablo Larraín explained that the drama will not delve into Diana’s tragic death, but instead focus on her relationship with her Royal husband and the love she has for children Prince William and Prince Harry.
The filmmaker said: ‘We decided to get into a story about identity, and around how a woman decides somehow, not to be the Queen…
‘She’s a woman who, in the journey of the movie, decides and realises that she wants to be the woman she was before she met Charles.’

She utters just two words in the short preview, responding: ‘They don’t,’ when told the press know everything in one scene, but that was clearly enough to send fans wild.
They declared that the American star’s British accent was ‘spot on’, while her mannerisms and characterisation of the late Princess were also accurate.
When news of the film was first announced, Twitter was swarmed with people questioning Kristen’s casting in the role of Diana.

Pablo quickly defended his decision to cast the star as the Princess of Wales, telling Deadline: ‘Kristen is one of the greatest actors around today.
‘Kristen can be many things, and she can be very mysterious and very fragile an ultimately very strong as well, which is what we need.’
‘The combination of those elements made me think of her. The way she responded to the script and how she is approaching the character, it’s very beautiful to see. I think she’s going to do something stunning and intriguing at the same time.’

The Venice Film Festival began on Wednesday and is running until 11 September.
The event is the world’s oldest film festival. It is known as one of the ‘Big Three’ film festivals, alongside the Berlin International Film Festival and the Cannes Film Festival.
The international movie competition is directed by Alberto Barbera and organised by La Biennale Di Venezia.

Blending documentary techniques and scripted drama, it gives a surprisingly credible picture of the princess’s last summer.’

Serena Scott Thomas in Diana: Her True Story (1993)
Based on the publication of the same name by Andrew Morton, British actress and model Serena Scott Thomas also found some praise for her portrayal in this made-for-TV movie. Entertainment Weekly said Serena showed ‘great charm’ in the role, but said she ‘more closely resembles a softer version of Murphy Brown‘s Faith Ford than she does the angular princess.’ Interestingly, Serena later played Carole Middleton in the 2011 TV movie William & Kate, depicting the courtship between the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Amy Seccombe in Diana: A Tribute To The People’s Princess (1998)
This ill-advised Princess Diana tribute was released just a year after her death, and starred little known actress Amy Seccombe for the part. The project was largely ignored upon release and thought to be distasteful. Seccombe’s only other role after the TV movie was playing a medic on the TV show Operation Good Guys.

Caroline Bliss in Charles And Diana: A Royal Love Story (1982)
This 1982 American made-for-television biographical drama starred Catherine Oxenberg as Diana, Christopher Baines as Prince Charles, and Hollywood royalty Olivia de Havilland as Queen Elizabeth. It originally aired September 20, 1982 on CBS. One damning review from The Washington Post called it a piece of ‘slack-jawed heraldic voyeurism incapable of, and apparently uninterested in, transforming remote news figures into believable mortals.’
