Laura Whitmore has hit back at trolls claiming she set out to ‘humiliate’ Love Island’s latest dumped islander Remi Lambert, after a very awkward exit interview on Sunday evening’s Aftersun.
The interview was prefaced by a brutal recoupling during Sunday’s episode, which saw Indiyah Polack choose to couple up with Ikenna Ekwonna instead of Remi.
And it seemed that the ex-contestant was dealt one last blow as Laura, 37, asked him to rap live on air, awkwardly obliging before delivering a short-lived rap.

Fumbling over his words, Remi left viewers wincing in their seats with his seemingly defeated performance.
And following a social media storm from fans claiming Laura attempted to ‘humiliate’ the rapper, the host has taken to Twitter to have her say – and tease a new couple.
She wrote: ‘Remi is a rapper and asked in good faith in advance if he’d rap and prepare something which he did.
‘Live Telly is nerve wrecking, believe me, so maybe he was a bit nervous but he deserved to have his time. Also I want to make Remi & Afia happen!’

Her response quoted a tweet from a fan which told Love Island to ‘Be kind’, reading: ‘Hope #LoveIsland supports Remi. He looked broken on #Loveislandaftersun Asking him to rap was done in bad faith and to humiliate. I thought @thewhitmore & crew were supposed to “BE KIND”‘
The rap wasn’t the only awkward part of the interview, with fans noticing Remi’s lack of chitchat, mixed into an array of awkward silences.
Following the interview, Laura turned to the studio to share her sympathy for the evictee, detailing: ‘Oh my god everything in me wanted to just give him a hug.’
