Love Island fans were left conflicted – and cringing – on Thursday night after Hugo Hammond made it clear to Sharon Gaffka there was nothing romantic between them.
The pair, who have put their recent argument regarding ‘fake girls’ aside, had a heart-to-heart during the show, causing fans to flood to Twitter with their comments, with one remarking their ‘heart broke’ for Sharon.
Hugo, 24, who is currently in a friendship couple with Sharon, 25, told her: ‘If I’m completely honest with you I can’t see there being anything romantic between you and me because I see you as a little sister in here now.

The teacher continued frankly: ‘I don’t see you in that way and I don’t think I ever could. As much as friendship couples are great and we have fun, it serves a purpose for the time being, but I don’t want it to be my whole experience. I want to share this with someone.’
Civil servant Sharon said: ‘I don’t want it to be your whole experience’ to which Hugo responded ‘and vice versa.’
