‘I actually meant it when I said I love you’: Love Island’s Shaq left devastated after Tanya recouples with Casa Amor boy Martin – and insists the pair are ‘done and dusted’
Love Island’s Shaq Muhammad was left devastated on Thursday night after Tayna Manhenga recoupled with new Casa Amor boy Martin Akinola.
As the ultimate relationship test came to an end, an explosive recoupling saw plenty of surprises.
But none were as surprising to Shaq, who saw Tanya return back to the villa with another man.
Admitting he was ‘lost for words’, Shaq assured that this was ‘definitely the end’ for the couple.
On Tanya’s return, host Maya Jama asked her how she felt at seeing Shaq stand there alone.

She said: ‘I feel like me and Shaq have something amazing so I’m not surprised’.
Moving the question over to Shaq, he said: ‘Just lost for words to be honest.
‘I’ve been honest since day one and I actually meant it when I said I love you. But I guess not everyone means it when they say something like that.
‘It is what it is. A game’s a game.’
Turning it over to an awkward Tanya once again, she tried to justify her decision to the group.
She said: ‘From the beginning I was coupled up with Shaq and it was amazing.
‘But I feel like it would be silly of me to not give it more time with Martin. But it’s definitely not the end’.
Shaq, clearly heartbroken, jumped in, ‘Well it is the end for me. So good luck to you, but that situation is done and dusted’.

Determined to not let her former partner end things there, Tanya said: ‘We personally haven’t had any speed bumps in here like other couple’s have. I hear you, but what’s meant to be will be’.
Laying in the guilt, Shaq added: ‘I’ve been sleeping on the day beds out of respect for you. It didn’t feel right sharing our bed with another girl.
‘But that’s what you get for being a nice guy I guess. They always finish last.’
Quiet up until now, Maya then moved the questions over to Martin, who seemingly not reading the room, just said he was ‘excited’ to be in the villa.
‘The work starts now’, he said. ‘I understand they’ve got something, but that’s history. I feel like we have a better connection.
‘I’m excited to see where this can go’.

The farmer, 23, stayed loyal to Jessie and didn’t recouple but when she walked back in single to reunite with him he had to be honest about what had gone on.
Jessie was thrilled when she first saw Will stood alone but upon further questioning from host Maya Jama – his kissing was revealed.
Maya asked if he had been loyal while Jessie was away to which he replied: ‘No not completely loyal no.
‘I on the first night kissed Layla and I’m not going to lie it was really tough the few days after that. I knew I’d let you down and I’m so sorry.’
Jessie visibly fuming replied: ‘Honestly it’s fine. I don’t really have any words right now. I didn’t think you would have done that.

Layla then chipped in to say: ‘I felt like we had a connection so yeah!’
It comes after fans were left fearing for Shaq after Tayna was seen sharing a kiss with Martin .
At the end of Wednesday’s episode the student, 22, could be seen cosying up to her new man in bed while Thursday night’s preview cut to Shaq’s face.
Fans of the show joked that producers should have ‘an ambulance ready’ as Shaq will ‘have a heart attack’ if his current partner Tanya arrives back with a new man.
Sharing their thoughts on Twitter, one fan of the show wrote: ‘I can’t wait for Shaq’s reaction omg.’
Another added: ‘The look on Shaq’s face man’ while a third continued: ‘I feel so bad fo Shaq, I’m sick.’
‘Either Shaq or Martin are going to need an ambulance tomorrow night,’ one user penned.
Some one else wrote: ‘Prediction: Tanya will bring Martin back to the main villa and very quickly regret it because Tanya is heavily into Martin who is definitely not into her!’
