MAFS Australia's Jess reveals regret over behaviour

‘I had no empathy for them because I was broken inside’: MAFS Australia’s Jess reveals regret over causing Mick and Tamara pain with cheating scandal

She was branded the villain of the sixth series of Channel 4 cult show, Married At First Sight Australia due to a series of fallouts and a cheating scandal.

And Jessika Power, 26, has spoken of her regret over the pain she caused husband Mick Gould, 33, and Tamara Joy, 31, when she began an affair with Tamara’s spouse Dan Webb, 36.

Speaking to Entertainment Daily, Jess, who was accused of smirking while Mick cried over her betrayal, said she now realises she had no empathy for her castmates at the time because she was ‘broken inside.’

How could you? Jess was married to farmer Mick (pictured) and kept him on the show in order to maintain a secret relationship with cast mate Dan behind his back

With no further explanation given, Jess said: ‘Watching back my time on the show I really regret the amount of pain I inflicted on Mick and Tamara [Joy], the situation could have been handled so differently.

‘I also had no sense of empathy or emotion and had my nose in everyone’s business.

‘It’s really hard watching that Jess back because it’s so clear to me how broken I was inside, as a person to be that way towards others.’

The show was filmed in December 2018 and Jess caused major shockwaves when she began an affair with Dan, who was married to Tamara.

Regrets? Dan was left with his head in his hands after the betrayal came to light as he apologised for hurting people with his actions

Instead of being honest with their partners, the couple remained with them so they could remain on the show and get to know the other person.

Jess famously had several feuds with other castmembers, including Cyrell Paule, 29, and Ning Surasiang, 35, who she told couldn’t trust her husband Mark Scrivens, 43.

She also famously had a major feud with Mike Gunner after he accused her of s**t stirring on the show.

But she refuses to blame the show’s editing for how she came across.

Sad: Tamara was also left in tears after hearing that her husband had begun a romance with Jess without telling her

Jess said: ‘I feel that everyone could put their hand up and say they got a bad edit! I wasn’t the nicest on the show and my behaviour towards the end was deplorable, but I still do have nice qualities.

‘I do wish we [me and Dan] had just put our foot down and said, “Look we want to send our partners home but we want to stay”.’

The couple have since gone their separate ways despite declaring their love for one another after just three weeks.

While the show aired in Australia in 2019, it has just aired in the UK, but Jess said some of the viewers have sent her death threats.

She said: ‘I was recently told, ‘If you ever came to the UK, I would bash you half to death and leave your bloodied and bleeding body in the street to die.’

Jess continued: ‘I just have to laugh; it is insane how crazy everyone gets over these reality shows.’

But still, the experience hasn’t put her off and she said: ‘I’d be open to more TV. I would love a show that could actually let my true personality shine without any editing. Maybe Celebrity Big Brother!’
