MAFS: Melissa Rawson calls out trolls after attending boxing match

Married At First Sight’s Melissa Rawson says she’s ‘never felt so attacked’ after trolls ‘mum shamed’ her for attending THAT boxing match

Bryce Ruthven and Melissa Rawson made headlines after they were involved in a scuffle with fellow Married At First Sight star Sam Carraro at a celebrity boxing match last week.

And while the couple have received criticism for their involvement in the physical clash, Melissa, 32, she’s also been targeted by ‘mum shamers’ who criticised her for being at the match in the first place.

Melissa and Bryce had attended the event two weeks after bringing their prematurely-born twin sons, Levi and Tate, home from the hospital – something that sparked backlash among online trolls.

Attacked: Married At First Sight’s Melissa Rawson, 32, (pictured) says she’s been left feeling ‘hurt and humiliated’ after online trolls ‘mum shamed’ her for attending a now-infamous celebrity boxing match so soon after bringing her premature twins home from hospital

Speaking on her What Happens After… podcast, Melissa said: ‘Wow, I’ve never ever felt so attacked, hurt and humiliated by other people on social media.

‘You know, how I should be raising my children or what I should be doing or, you know, where I can go … I thought everything after MAFS was bad. This is worse.’

‘I copped hate during MAFS, but this is a different level of hate,’ Melissa continued.

Hurt: Appearing on her What Happens After… podcast, Melissa admitted that internet trolls have left her feeling ‘hurt and humiliated’ after people incorrectly assumed that they ‘just lifted the boys out of NICU then went out’. ‘Wow… You’re definitely entitled to your opinion, but don’t sprout your own personal opinions and beliefs onto my page because I have no issues with blocking you.’

Melissa said she and Bryce are doing their best as parents, and that she’s thankful to have such a supportive network around them.

‘I’m so sensitive to what other people say… people that are nasty and so opinionated and hurtful, you don’t know the harm that you’re doing.’

Bryce went on to defend the couple’s decision to attend the event, which saw him get into a shock altercation with his MAFS co-star and rival Sam.

‘I think one thing we discovered in the past week that just because you’re a parent doesn’t mean that you’re an expert and just because you do something a certain way it doesn’t mean it will work for other parents and their lifestyle.’

Melissa also said she was also hurt by the number of abusive messages she received after recently sharing a photo of herself drinking a cocktail while out with friends.

‘You don’t know just by looking at a photo about a person’s situation,’ she said.

Melissa explained: ‘I’ve been very open with my breastfeeding journey, and unfortunately, I’m no longer breastfeeding because I’m no longer able to produce milk.’

‘Having people attack me online and sending me DMS about drinking alcohol and, (yes) you know, I had one drink, but I’m not breastfeeding. I didn’t put my children in danger at all.’

The couple were forced to cut short their date night on Friday after a brawl erupted between Bryce, 32, and his MAFS rival Sam Carraro following a boxing match.

The fight began when Sam, upon winning his round against Love Island star Todd Elton, challenged Bryce to a future bout.

Sam, 33, then stepped out of the ring and Bryce motioned him over.

The pair lunged at one another, exchanging blows as several bystanders, including their MAFS co-star Steve Burley, pried them apart.

Melissa was caught in the fray after stepping between the men as they attempted to throw punches.

After the brawl, the reality TV lovebirds called time on their night off and went home to their twin sons.
