Makeup-free Holly Willoughby showcases her natural beauty as she cuddles up to pet puppy Bailey

Holly Willoughby looked radiant as she shared a cosy selfie with new puppy Bailey on Monday.

The This Morning presenter, 40, allowed her natural beauty to shine through as she went makeup-free while lounging on her bed in her dressing gown.

Cuddling up to her pet pooch, Holly seemed in good spirits as she smiled up at the camera.

Holly – who is enjoying a break from a hosting This Morning over the festive period – simply captioned the snap: ‘Morning’.

While Bailey has settled right into family life with the Willoughbys, Holly recently recalled a ‘horror movie’ like moment with her new pup.

During an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, Holly explained that the first morning with her golden retriever was a far cry from perfect when she was greeted by an abhorrent smell as she went to check on her in the crate.

The new dog owner said: ‘Before I saw her, I could smell her. I lifted the flap and I swear to God it was like something out of a horror movie.’

‘She was covered in her own s**t. She’d gone from white and perfect to just stinky and smelly. I looked and thought “if I let you out you’re going to run through and cover the whole house in this.”‘

It might not have been the greeting the This Morning presenter was expecting but she did gush about the newest addition to the family.

‘She is pretty perfect actually, apart from that first night. I think she did it on purpose. I think she’s quite a clever girl.’

Bailey joined the Willoughby family last month and Holly enthused that her household was ‘completely in love’ with their furry friend and that having the dog around had helped her get through her recent tummy bug that saw her unable to present This Morning.

She wrote on her Wylde Moon website: ‘Bailey has come in and pushed a giant paw-shaped, reset button for all us…and of course we are completely in love.’

Holly recalled of her family’s journey to get the pup: ‘My daughter has been campaigning for us to get a dog since she was able to talk, and we have been waiting for the right time for a dog to fit into our family life.

‘Now, is that time. This little ball of scrumptious energy bounded into our world and immediately made us question why on earth we have waited so long. She’s been brilliant for getting us all out of the house, going on long walks and playing in the garden.

‘During lockdown, the kids gravitated to being on screens more than normal, but Bailey has come in and pushed a giant paw-shaped, reset button for all us…and of course we are completely in love.’

‘She was covered in her own s**t!’: Holly made the most of her post-watershed appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show as she swore recalling a gross moment with her new pup

‘Last week I was struck down with a tummy bug and for 48 hours I was really not in a very good way. I couldn’t take the kids to school, I couldn’t go to work and I couldn’t take the dog for a walk, but that didn’t stop Bailey lovingly sitting at my feet all day long.’

She continued: ‘I didn’t have the heart to tell her that the slight smell of dog food was doing nothing for my swirling nausea, but nonetheless, just having her there made me feel so much better.’

Holly had been absent from This Morning at the end of November after the stomach bug forced her to miss three days of filming.
