Maura Higgins has signed a deal with superstar agency Elite Models, in a bid to swap the reality TV world for that of the runway.

The former Love Island contestant, 30, could soon be gracing the covers of high fashion magazines as she follows in Kendall Jenner’s footsteps by inking the contract with the high-flying firm.

Attempting to crack the US, the brunette bombshell will also be represented by Elite’s sister agency EWG Management in New York and LA.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday to share the exciting news, she uploaded a snap of herself striking a bold pose in a white top and a contrasting black blazer.

Slipping her toned pins into a pair of glossy onyx vinyl trousers, she added inches to her enviable frame with a coordinating pair of leather boots.

Flashing a peace sign in the reception of Elite’s London office, she wrote in her caption: ‘Here’s to new beginnings.’

One of the world’s best known model agencies, it has had supermodels including Gisele Bundchen, Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, Linda Evangelista and Naomi Campbell on its books.

It is famous for its model scouting contest and its customers include leading fashion houses like Chanel, Dior and Yves Saint Laurent.

A source recently told MailOnline Maura had dumped her management team to pursue a modelling career – and revealed she was already in advance talks with top agencies.

The former reality star said she was ‘desperate’ to distance herself from reality TV after finding fame on the ITV2 dating show in 2019 and competing in Dancing On Ice.

Insiders revealed that she wants to take her career in a different direction following the success of her brand partnerships with the likes of Ann Summers.

They added that she’s keen for her personal life to remain private, instead of her romances playing out in the public eye.

An insider told MailOnline: ‘Maura has left the management company she signed with after coming out of the Love Island villa.

‘They have supported her from the beginning but now she’s ready to start a new chapter in her career and wants to focus on modelling. 

‘She’s desperate to move away from reality TV – she wants a new challenge and has always thrived off her fashion and beauty campaigns.

‘It’s important for Maura to claim back some of her personal life, her recent breakup from Giovanni hit her hard and she knows for her next relationship to work she will need to keep it private.’

Maura has removed any mention of her former management company, who also represent Love Island stars Chris Hughes, 28, Jack Fincham, 30, and Faye Winter, 26, from her Instagram profile.

The Glow Up Ireland presenter decided to make the change following her recent breakup from Strictly dancer Giovanni Pernice, 30.

Their romance ended abruptly in October and Maura has reportedly signed up to celebrity dating app Raya in the hope of finding her next partner.

Maura left Love Island in a relationship with ballroom dancer Curtis Pritchard, 25, and has also dated Chris Taylor, 30, who she met on the same series.
