Met Gala 2022: Priscilla Presley in black with Elvis' Austin Butler

Met Gala 2022: Priscilla Presley, 76, is age defying in a sleek black dress as she poses with Elvis star Austin Butler, 30… after she praised his portrayal of her late ex-husband as ‘outstanding’

Priscilla Presley had company on Monday when she walked the red carpet at the Met Gala with Elvis star Austin Butler.

The 76-year-old ex-wife of Elvis Presley continued to show her support for the 30-year-old actor after she gave his performance as her late ex-husband in Baz Luhrmann’s biopic Elvis a rave review just days earlier.

Priscilla stunned at the iconic fashion event in Manhattan by wearing a sleek black dress that made her look years younger than her age.

She still has it: Priscilla Presley, 76, stunned in a mostly black ensemble as she walked the carpet at the Met Gala in Manhattan on Monday with Austin Butler, 30, who plays her ex-husband Elvis Presley in a new biopic

Priscilla’s black satin dress hugged her trim figure and featured a slim skirt that reached all the way down to the ground.

She was dressed in head-to-toe Prada, and her edgy dress was enlivened by intriguing shiny vertical strips over her midriff.

Her long sleeves were decorated with thick glittering gold bands, which matching her pointed gold heels perfectly.

The actress wore her elegantly coiffed burgundy tresses styled straight and turned up at the bottom as the strands rested on her shoulders.

Priscilla complemented her dress with a thick matching black headband, and she carried a black triangular Prada clutch.

Supporting her was Once Upon A Time In Hollywood star Austin Butler, who plays her late ex-husband Elvis Presley in Baz Luhrmann’s highly anticipated biopic Elvis.

Like Priscilla, Austin was representing Prada with his black suit.

The unusual ensemble featured a shirt-like jacket with draped satin lapels like a scarf, along with long sleeves that partially swallowed up his hands.

He wore black patent leather shoes for extra luster, and his blond hair was styled messily up top and slick back on the sides.

Also joining Priscilla at the Met Gala was a male friend she’s been spotted spending time with in recent years.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Benefit, also known as the Met Gala, is considered by many as the ‘Super Bowl of celebrity red carpets.’

Fashion’s biggest night is traditionally held the first Monday in May to raise money for the Costume Institute in New York City, with last year’s event moved to September due to the pandemic.

This year’s dress code is ‘gilded glamor’ to match the theme of ‘In America: An Anthology of Fashion,’ a continuation of last year’s ‘In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.’

Although Priscilla will forever represent the early rock and roll era thanks to her connection to Elvis Presley, her look was difficult to pin to a particular era because of its minimalist design.

Tickets for the glitzy event can reportedly cost up to $35,000 apiece, while prices for a table range from $200,000 to $300,000, with last year’s bash raking in a whopping $16.4 million for the Met’s Costume Institute.

Regina King, power couple Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, and Lin-Manuel Miranda are hosting this time, taking over from Timothée Chalamet, Billie Eilish, Amanda Gorman and Naomi Osaka.

This will be Miranda’s first time as a Met Gala co-chair (and guest) but he was originally intended to co-host the 2020 edition before the pandemic forced its cancellation.

Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour is once again supervising the benefit as chairwoman, a position she’s held since 1995. Her fellow honorary co-chairs are designer Tom Ford and Instagram head Adam Mosseri.

As usual, the sartorial theme comes from the exhibit the gala launches: ‘In America: An Anthology of Fashion,’ which is the second of star curator Andrew Bolton’s two-part show exploring the roots of American style.

This exhibit will showcase some lesser-known designers, and also some top film directors, including Sofia Coppola, Martin Scorsese, host King, and last year’s Oscar winner Chloé Zhao.
